I don't really think that when a character that has a fan base dies, people stop reading manga. That's just a silly thing to say. I actually think that when a character dies (depending on the character and the situation), it makes a powerful move on the plot.
We agree that the manga is weak on character development, you summed it up pretty well.
yeah and didn't exactly say that if your FAV character die you will automatically stop following the manga, what i said is that more people will stop following it. meaning if there is 20 die hard kakashi fanboys and 30 kakashi fanboys chances are that 10 out of the 20 die hard kakashi fanboys, would stop following the manga due to the absence of their FAV character.
but obviously the other 30 would still continue watching it.
