Whether the direction the manga headed in after the War Arc was satisfying to you or not, the fact remains that Naruto has had an amazing run.

So few series are able become a multimedia franchise and evolve to be such a worldwide phenomenon like Naruto has. And considering just how much he incorporated Japanese mythology, folklore, and history into Naruto, Kishimoto definitely deserved this award.

- Of course it's popular. But it also talks about how he incorporated what was mentioned unless you have valid evidence to prove otherwise.

I said based on his writing meaning how good/bad he wrote the story something is determined by the definition of good/bad not based on his writing style. None of that his story was unique and gave depth to the shonen genre is part of definable good/bad writing. All that stuff is subjective therefore not possible to define as good or bad. Personally I think his story ended up going nowhere items intended to in the end and nothing special for writing in general since I have seen every theme in his manga in other story's before. That's why it's subjective not everyone has the same I
