I thought he said Choji was his favorite, and he found Shikamaru to be hard to portray in battles since he gave him a higher IQ than he himself has.

That is true tho lol, I was thinking about the war Arc, then I realized: Both if then got development in the war Arc, and even then, Shikamaru got more development than Choji. He also had his own arc full of development for him...

Actually I think Shikamaru may be the second most developed character in the series

Yep. Shikamaru had his own little arc during the Chunin Exams vs. Temari.
Shikamaru had his own arc shared with Choji/Ino with Asuma's death but Shikamaru played the most vital role in not only the story being taught about the "Kings", but he was the one who got revenge for their fallen master
Shikamaru alongside Ino received development after both their fathers died. Meanwhile Choji got skinny, and then fat again XD

I dont like Kishi but i sure do respect him. This ***** had to balls to completely and utterly take a dump on SS(arguably the biggest Naruto fanbase) in the latest chapter, completely destroying all fapfiction/faparts in the process xd.

No wonder I like Shikamaru so much, he's actually developed. I also find it cool that Naruto's best friend ended up being his wingman and advisor. Yes Shikamaru is Naruto's best friend, not Sasuke

Totally agree on this I would +rep but I can't, although I also consider Sasuke like his older bro since their rivalry is a little bit similar to his and Itachi's.

kakashi is more developed than shikamaru but other than him and Naruto I would sau he is the most developed he's also my favorite living character since Neji died
Sasuke is developed but at the same time he is so complex that the shroud of mystery around him makes it seem like he hasn't received much development but our curiosity eclipses kishimoto's time
