I don't think he was nerfed, he just didn't get much more growth. Neji went from being my favorite character in part 1 to a non existant character in part 2. The hyuga overall seemed pretty cool to me Idk what happened. Well... actually i do XD the other dojutsu became even more hax

I wouldn't say nerfed is the right word... he just wasn't as vital in Part 2 I guess. Too much focus on the Akatsuki and hunting the bijuu hosts for that. Obviously Kishi COULD have developed it more but what can you do now :yeah: it's more neglect than anything. I guess there are always some good fanfics out there though

hyuga are but neji wasnt....he was somewhat of a prodigy and then he stopped having the technique that made him awesome.....im pretty sure the kishi made up the hyuga to be important and then decided the werent going to be a focus point

The Byakugan itself ended up being completely dwarfed by the Sharingan in Part 2. And with minimal ninjutsu capability, Neji was permanently in danger, especially given all the methods of stopping him from hitting chakra points. Any sort of shield at all would negate his attack and leave him at considerable risk of death. Aside from Guy, taijutsu specialists have pretty ineffective in part 2, unless they had some sort of mechanism or technique that would ensure that they would survive should their attack fail. This is why Kimimaro had so much potential.

Sakura is a main character, Neji on the other hand is not, so it is logical.

OT: I agree. Neji should have had more panel time. He was the strongest member of the K11 bar Sasuke V2 and One Tail Naruto. He went to be Jonin in less than 3 years.

I agree. Neji had so much potential but I think maybe Kishi ignored him because his abilities really made him a huge threat to the Uchihas and Pein. Three or four blows to the upper body tenketus (chakra pressure points) where the chakra flows from the body to the head, would effectively stop the chakra flow to their eyes, making their primary fighting style useless (no eye techs, no enhanced visual perceptions, no eye genjutsus). It would have basically left them fighting with taijutsu and ninjutsu. But that wouldn't make a fair fight so ignore the Hyugas and allow the MS/rinnengan users seem OP. Just my observation.
