Kisame's main feats:
Why he is never included in anyone's Top 10 amazes me. He is ridiculously strong and if he had Samehada while he was fighting Might Gai I doubt he would have lost. I don't care what anyone has to say but, he may be able to beat Itachi with high difficulty.
Samehada:
- As the blade is made up of scales, it inflicts injuries through shredding or shaving what it comes into contact with, rather than just cutting the object in question. This flaying effect is similar to a shark's skin, hence the sword's name. While it ordinarily remains rigid, Samehada's hilt is able to stretch and bend to great extent, allowing the weapon to be used like a flail.

While it ordinarily remains rigid, Samehada's hilt is able to stretch and bend to great extent, allowing the weapon to be used like a flail. Although it continually consumes the chakra of its owner, its largest meals come from fights, wherein it absorbs the chakra of the opposition instead. Such an ability allows Samehada to literally slice through an opponent's techniques, in spite of whether the chakra has been transformed or not,[7] and even prevent them from being performed by absorbing all of the necessary chakra, before preparations can be completed. Samehada has the ability to transfer the chakra it has absorbed to the wielder by partially fusing with them, so it can be used to either regenerate injuries or replenish their chakra reserves. This makes the user of this sword extremely difficult to defeat, however, a wielder such as Kisame can take this fusion one step further, by completely merging with Samehada. Doing so causes him to become much more shark-like in appearance, growing fins and webbed hands that allow him to move through water with considerable ease. Kisame also receives some of Samehada's abilities while in this form, such as being able to extend spikes from his body for offence, and absorbing chakra when others come into direct contact with him, as well as the ability to track chakra.
Water Release: [He also has Earth Release as well but, he doesn't use too much].
Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave:
- After using the Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave and fusing with Samehada, Kisame Hoshigaki acts as the centre of the resultant giant dome of water. Once this technique has been activated, the dome alters its position in order to reflect the direction of his movements, making it difficult for his target to escape as long as he continues his pursuit. This technique provides Kisame a tremendous field advantage, as his fused form grants him the ability to breathe and freely move underwater, while his target continues to drown as they attempt to futilely escape the large body of water. This technique is extremely effective in one on one fights, but the user would probably not be able to contain two enemies fleeing in opposite directions.
A Thousand Feeding Sharks:
- A much more powerful version of the Water Release: Five Feeding Sharks, the user creates one thousand sharks out of water that enter into a wall formation and rain down to attack the opponent.
Great Shark Bullet:
- A stronger version of the Water Release: Water Shark Bullet Technique, where the user creates a gigantic shark out of water and, by thrusting both hands forward, sends it to attack the opponent. This technique differs from the original in that it is able to absorb the chakra from an opponent's technique and in turn, use that chakra to grow larger and more powerful. Therefore, the stronger the opponent's technique is, the stronger this technique will get.
Physical Power and Chakra Prowess:
- Unlike his partner Itachi, Kisame preferred direct physical combat, with which he has repeatedly been shown to be very proficient and dangerous. Generally while fighting, he combined strong taijutsu strikes with powerful slashes from Samehada. He has been seen displaying astonishing raw speed and immense physical strength, which combined with his high taijutsu prowess allows him to directly overpower most opponents, as shown when he overpowered Might Guy, a very powerful taijutsu master, during their battle.
- Kisame had a massive amount of chakra, even by Akatsuki standards. Karin, upon sensing Kisame, stated she had never seen so much chakra in one place. Even when he fought at 30% power in one instance, Neji compared his chakra supply to that of Naruto.
