Chapter 6: Transform - Part II
With the alarm sounding off, Satsuki gets the group assembled with haste.
Satsuki: Everyone to combat positions, now!
Without following her orders, Riku briskly bolted past her, as he gave her a glaring look.
Riku: We cannot let them in closer than that.
Off in the distance, in the barbican of the Kiryoku HQ, was Kenzo Nakamura whom silently marked down a member from the Distrutto, aiming him down his crossbow sights at his objective and waiting for further orders.
In the open field, Kouhei told Ren to retreat from the battle, so he could head back to help the others.
Kouhei: Ren...our training is being cut short it seems, I think you are ready for this, but you not being able to activate sateikan might be a problem. You'll have to retreat from this battle for now.
Ren: Then what's the reason of me joining this organization? If I can't even face the enemy!?
Kouhei: Kouhei: I don't have time for this Ren, let's go.
Ren: Ren: ......
Ren went to pick up his equipment as he stares at what is in his perspective with determination, As soon as he got his swords in his full reach, He runs past Kouhei, making his medium-length blonde hair sway in in the air.
Ren: I can't sit around and do nothing!
Kouhei: REN! Stop now!
Kouhei attempts to catch up to the pace Ren is running at, but he can't fight his unwavering resolve.
Kouhei (in his thoughts): Why now out of all times?...I can't deal with this now, but I will definitely take care of this after.
Kouhei stood back up, heading the same direction as Ren. As Ren approaches his destination he is stopped by a slender but intimidating shadow in a cloak. Ren unsheathes the two red and blue hilted Katana's from his back and gets into a stance of action, he looks at the shadow with a determined look.
Ren: I'll finish this in a heartbeat!
The silhouette looks at Ren with a intimidated face, as if he had the same intention as well.
Meanwhile...
At the gates to the Kiryoku HQ, Riku stood as he called out to the opposing forces and pointed his scythe to his opponent.
Riku: You're not getting past these gates.
One member of the Distrutto signals the person Riku is looking at and tells him to make him his opponent so they wont be slowed down from their objective, he also reminded him to leave no traces of this battle.
Just like that The member of the Distrutto clapped his hands and uncloaks himself, Riku and him disappeared and appeared again in an open valley.
Shocked at what had happened Riku looked around, but stopped as soon as he saw the unknown member.
Riku: Hmph, you really think this was a good idea? No matter what conditions you put me in, I will definitely kill you.
?: The name's Maxim. My Potentia will stop you Riku, come, Velocità Mimico!
Maxim unsheathed his sword from the holster and disappeared with immense agility, and he appeared to surround Riku at immense speeds. Riku sighed and unsheathes his own scythe and smiles.
Riku: What a pity, and here I thought I can finally use my Saitenkan against a worthy opponent. My skills are dulling by the moment, sigh...
Riku held his scythe firmly and sliced it in an upwards direction where Maxim with his Potentia might have seemed to appear, the scythe then disappeared as he walked away, his hands in his pockets.
Riku: Rend, Sushiku!
In a split second, Maxim's head starts gushing blood, it immediately separates from his whole body and falls to the ground.
Maxim: What.......?
Riku looks around for a way to get back to Kiryoku HQ, but realizes he is in the middle of nowhere.
Riku: How do I get back now? Tsk.
Meanwhile...
Kenzo was given orders to take down the next Distrutto, as he pulled out one arrow from his pouch, he prepared an impact arrow (It explodes on contact, incinerating anything in it's proximity into flames). by taking the shot, the arrow made it's way to to the member... Before the flame arrow can reach him he murmured words that would trigger a ability.
?: Tentai-jiku.
The cloaked man threw a knife at the arrow with supernatural speed and instantly perished the arrow.
The man slowly uncloaks himself and focused on Kenzo, who was incapable of moving after seeing his arrow being shattered like it was nothing. He slowly felt his heart rate falling lower an lower, his lips starting to freeze too, his mouth almost unmovable, but he didn't give in.
Kenzo: Yōso, if you can hear me, I won't make it without you, I need you! Yōso, awaken!
Kenzo attempts to awaken his Saitenkan, but can't for some unknown reason.
Kenzo: Damn it, nothing yet...
The moment he said that, the man from Distrutto stood before him.
?: My name is Kiri. To be able too withstand Tentai-jiku is amazing.
Kenzo shows a unwavering battle ready smirk at his opponent.
Kenzo: Likewise.
