not suits in a deck of cards. That's why I've said it before to leave the cards business with Doflamingo, people have a hard time letting him go for some reason and try to relate everything to him.

Jack is a card though. He then had a disaster as his epithet. Which is what I was getting at.
But what I was just saying is that the new lion person wouldn't be named King or Queen, but would be figuratively King or Queen because a lion is usually referred to as "King of the Jungle." Hell, his intro could be "Captain of the Lion, Jeff the Volcanic".... See what I'm getting at? They would still hold up the whole card charade without actually having to use the names King and Queen, which isn't a real name like Jack.
However, at the same time, I pointed out that Doffy used "Joker" as his underworld NAME. So that shows we shouldn't 100% rule out that Oda wouldn't just call someone King or Queen.

Not relating everything to Doffy here, it's the whole theme so far surrounding Kaido and Doffy who was connected to Kaido fits into that. So of course he's going to get a mention, but it's not all down to him lol, haven't seen anyone base this assumption on Doffy alone.

Doffy took the name Joker just simply because? Why couldn't the King or Queen do the same?

I have always had an issue with King, because I felt Kaido should represent that... But seeing this lion silhouette has me complety turned around on that idea and it's more of a figurative King (may even be a lioness and we found our queen?), and I could deal with that. Just read somewhere about the Queen being some sort of insect like a queen bee, and again, I'd be happy with that too.

People seem to be on the fence about this whole card game titles and what nots... But since he has used it as heavily as he has so far, wouldn't you now be a bit like "oh, there's no queen and king... Sort of fits actually?"

But if you google his introduction, there's a picture that comes up stating he's a headliner. I remember seeing that at the time and seeing those scrub headliners and being a bit confused aha... So that's why I was just gonna wait it out for a bit xD

Edit: I don't think I ever read the actual Viz translations... So if ther's ever a translational error, I will usually learn about it much later on

not King so it doesn't work here. Since the subordnate said "Lord Holdem" I'm assuming that he's another captain on Kaido's crew just like Jack.

.... Which is exactly why I said it now could be figurative, instead of literal. So it does work here. It's looking like a lion, a lion represents the KING of the jungle... Don't really know how you're having difficulty understanding the point.

I know exactly what you’re saying but the lion Holdem (if he was a ship Captain) would have the title like (drought) or something named after a disaster while Holdem would just be his regular literal name like Jack.

Anyways the spoilers revealed that he’s a headliner not a captain so he’s not a king. You’re not going to find any queen or king titles in this arc.

Just being called by your name doesn't mean you don't have a title too... Jack has been referred to as Jack without the drought bit. Holdem hasn't been properly introduced yet.

PLUS, as I previously showed (maybe another thread actually), Jack got introduced as a Headliner in one of the translations... So even if Holdem is a Headliner, he could potentially still be a calamity. We'll just have to wait and see though, definitely nothing to say for certain any of this, just possibilities.
