Kimimaro was on a different level than almost everyone I've seen in the Narutoverse. If he was healthy and evil, I wonder if he'd trump Pein. He survived three different forms of desert coffin using his bones. Naruto barely survived one by summoning Gamabunta. Plus I like his attitude, similar to Itachi. Now, suppose that he joined Akatsuki, or even partnered with Itachi, how hard would it be to defeat them? Those two had two of the strongest kekkei genkeis out there and mastered them.
Just a bit...lol. But you have to admit that with some elemental training and some new trick he would be an akatsuki level no problem!
Not all ninja can use elemental ninjutsu, though.
