Why any "X vs Sakura" discussion is turning into "X vs Katsuyu"?
It is not like Katsuyu is the target, it is just a tool; if Sakura is down; the battle would be over; it does not matter if Katsuyu is still alive and mobile.

Only, it would be quite hard to take out Sakura if she was backed up by Katsuyu. Keep in mind that we were talking about Shino, not some overpowered character.

But Katsuyu can protect her. Defeatig someone when a Bijuu sized creature is protecting him/her is not that easy.

Shino bugs would basically hold the fort down on Katsuyu.

Knowning summons can die. Manda died, the frogs can die if they faced a fatal blow. See Katsuyu can withstand physical attacks. It did not however, say it can withstand poison.

Now base on this the trickery comes in. Shino bugs the ones that mated with torune bugs have poison in them. Now Shino bugs are biting the big slug because what does bugs eat other bugs or plants. So Katsuyu is not just break back out of Shino bugs stomach. They are being poisoned too.

Now that leaves Shakura vs Shino. Basically we know Shino is going to out think Shakura and has to stay his distance. He knowing what shakura does he will and she will try to get close to him.

But have we seen any far attacks no so she will be swinging for him. He will set a Insect Sphere on her to power her down some. She will be ripping away many of the bugs but not on the parts she can not reach on her back and some other areas.

Than when she is distracted and he is far enough he is going to hit here with
Insect Tornado

Katsuyu would just absorb the bugs. Besides, how many bugs can Shino keepn within his body?
