*I begin channeling my chakra around my body, envisioning the nature of Doton. After channeling my chakra and establishing a good level of chakra flow, i place my hands upon the ground and release the channeled chakra into it, molding the ground beneath a nearby tree. I then visualize the ground moving inwards, with the tree's position acting as the epicenter, replicating this entire scenario in reality which causes a massive hole to be created in the process akin to the level of damage caused by mud slides.*
Advantages:
This jutsu has a lot of potential regarding battle situations, making it useful in capturing the opponents, preventing formations of earth e.g. Wheel of Fortune
It could also potentially be used in any terrain for a whole multitude of effects e.g. Deserts would make a sand burial type Antilion whilst forests would completely crush the opponent in trees.
Disadvantages:
Like you mentioned it covers a wide area and the terrain could potentially make this a bad idea for the user to use e.g. Forests would cause immense damage to the surroundings which could potentially affect the user.
One question, what are the best counters to this type of jutsu ?
