Chapter 2 " Roots of Something Dark "​

Nero-sama RUSHES over to break up the commotion.. He struggles to pull a screaming and flailing Tommy off of
Kenshin. In the commotion Tommy's Scrapbook falls out of his book bag.

Int. Elementary School - Cafeteria - Day ( Cont'd )​

We move to the Ext. Rabbit in Red Lounge - Day​

Neon Sign - Rabbit in Red Lounge​

An articulated NEON SIGN featuring a RABBIT IN A TUXEDO drinking a cocktail while ogling a BUSTY DANCER wigglingher ass.
Pulling back from the sign we see: a small CINDER BLOCK BUILDING set back at the end of gravel parking lot.

Crude hand-painted artwork covers the building proclaiming "HOT BABES AND COLD BEER".​

INT. RABBIT IN RED LOUNGE - DAY - CONTINUOUS​

A small, dark low class strip joint. Hundreds of stands of small twinkling CHRISTMAS LIGHTS are strung from the ceiling along with several small MIRROR BALLS.. sending fractured light dancing off the walls.

A SMALL GROUP of LOCAL SH*T-KICKERS gather for the lunchtime show.. hot wings buffet and strippers.

On stage we find LAWLIET, dressed in trashy lingerie, as she unenthusiastically BUMPS and GRINDS to AC/DC's
"Highway to Hell".

Behind the bar is MUGIWARA (51), a large sloth of a man in a straw cowboy hat watching wrestling on a small portable TV.
The phone rings. ​

MUGIWARA answers.​

MUGIWARA - RABBIT IN RED

INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - PRINCIPLE'S OFFICE - DAY - CONTINUOUS​

PRINCIPLE VERSUVIO (47), a thin, NERVOUS MAN in a stiff WHITE SHIRT and SKINNY BLACK TIE sits behind his state issued gray metal desk.
Tommy's scrapbook of PERVERSION sits on his desk.

VERSUVIO - Could i please speak to Lawliet Kuchi?

MUGIWARA - Who? Speak up, buddy.

Versuvio - Lawliet Kuchi. This is Principle Versuvio of Babilon Elementary.

INT. RABBIT IN RED LOUNGE - DAY - CONTINUOUS​

MUGIWARA blocks his free ear straining to hear.​

Mugiwara - Who? Lawliet? Oh Lawly... Yeah hold on she's just coming off stage.

Lawliet has finished her routine and is now in the degrading process of picking up crumbled DOLLAR BILLS thrown by her ADORING FANS off the stage.

As she steps down from the stage Mugiwara motions to her that she has a call.​

Mugiwara (CONT'D) - I think it's your kid's school or something.

Lawliet grabs the phone.​

Lawliet - Yeah... Hello.

INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - PRINCIPLE'S OFFICE - DAY - CONTINUOUS​

Principle Versuvio flips through Tommy's Scrapbook.​

Versuvio - Mrs.Lawliet we've had an incident with your son Tommy today and... I-I-I think you better come down.

Lawliet (Interrupting) - Look, I'm at work. I can't come down there right now. Jesus what is it with you people?
Can't you keep control down there?

Versuvio - I wouldn't call if i didn't believe it was very important.

Lawliet - Alright alright, hold on.

Lawliet (To Mugiwara) - I got go over to my kids school.

Mugiwara - So?

Lawliet - What do you mean so?

Mugiwara - What? You know the drill. Hustle your ass on my time, deal with your shit on your time.

Lawliet (Sarcastic) - Thanks for nothing.

Lawliet (Into the phone) - I get a lunch break in about twenty minutes.

ext. elementary school - day - later​

Lawliet pulls up in Nexus's yellow hot rod.. Radio Blasting.​

INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - OUTER PRINCIPLE'S OFFICE - DAY

-Anna- (61), a stern old woman with a tightly wound bun is banging away at her type writer. Lawliet enters, Miss -Anna- looks up.. a look of mild disgust comes over her face at the sight of Lawliet's appearence.​

-Anna- - Can i help you?

Lawliet (Joking) - I'm here to see the principle. Don't worry granny, i ain't a student.

-Anna- - Name.

Lawliet - Lawliet Kuchi.

-Anna- buzzes the principle.​

-Anna- (Into Intercom)- A Miss Kuchi is here.

Versuvio - Send her in.

-Anna- - Go right in he's expecting you.

Lawliet - I hope so he's expecting me. He's the one who f*cking called me down here.

INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - PRINCIPLE'S OFFICE - DAY​

Lawliet enters the office.. Principle Versuvio is sitting behind his desk.. Next to him is a bearded man with long-haired and glasses wearing a tweed jacket. This is Dr.Shunsui (40).​

Both men stands to greet her.
​

Versuvio - Please come in... (Motions to a chair)
... Have a seat. (More)

Versuvio (CONT'D) (Motions to Shunsui) - This is Dr.Shunsui. I asked him to join us.

Lawliet takes a seat opposite the desk.​

Lawliet (Checks her watch) - Look, i only got a half hour. So let's cut to it.
What's the big hub-hub?

Versuvio (Nervous) - I'm not sure how to put this...um...let me just as you said..cut to it.

Shunsui (interrupting in a grin tone) - Has Tommy ever had any kind of serious psychiatric evaluation?

Lawliet (offended) - Excuse me? Wait a minute...What? Who the f*ck is this guy?

Versuvio - This is Dr. Shunsui. He's a child psychologist.

Shunsui - Allow me to phrase it another way. Your son Tommy is a very disturbed young man and...

Lawliet stands up ready to leave.​

Lawliet - Oh, this is a beautiful little ambush. Look i don't have time for your hippy intellectual bullshit.

Versuvio - Please, please don't take offense. It's just that we found something...

Lawliet - You-you got a lot of f*cking nerve dragging my ass all the way down here to hit me with this doctor shit.

Shunsui (Shunsui slides the scrapbook across the desk towards Lawliet) - We found this in your son's book bag and...
We felt very concerned.

Lawliet opens the book and begins flipping through. She is horrified by what she sees.

We see a page of a woman having *** doggy style. Scratched across the photo is the word "DIE MOTHER".
The woman's eyes are crossed out with black X's.​

Lawliet - Oh my god. This is really sick. (Flips the page)

Lawliet - F*ck. (Sits back down)

Lawliet - These are Tommy's missing pets... Rudy... Humpy... What-What did he... he killed them?
(Looks to Shunsui)

INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - CLASSROOM - DAY

Kenshin and Caliburn sit next to each other in the classroom. They seem fascinated checking the hottest and most

Tommy is sitting quietly on a couch staring at the floor.​

INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE - DAY - MOMENTS LATER ​

Tommy RUNS through the halls of the school.. SLIDES to a stop at his locker.. QUICKLY opens the locker..
GRABS his backpack and takes off RUNNING down the hall.​

INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE - DAY - MOMENTS LATER​

Principal Versuvio, Dr.Shunsui and Lawliet enter the office.​

Shunsui - I really think daily sessions are the only way to go at this point.

Versuvio (To ~COCO~) - Where's Tommy?

~COCO~ I let him go to the toilet... (Looks at her watch)
...He should be back any second... He's been gone quite awhile.

Lawliet - He split.

Versuvio - I'm sure he just...

Lawliet - No,Trust me he's gone.

EXT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - HOLLOW'S WOODS - DAY - LATER​

Tommy hides himself from view in a wooded area across from the school known as HOLLOW'S WOODS. The school bell
rings signaling the end of another day.

Tommy secretly watches as the TEENS exit the school and begin loading onto their busses. He scans the crowd..
Then focuses his attention on two of his female classmates.. -Missy- (16) and Rei (17).

From Tommy's Point of view. He begins TRACKING the girls as walk along the edge of Hollow's woods.

The girls reach an intersection.. say their good byes and go their separate ways. -Missy- continues on down
the street..Rei crosses the street towards Hollow's Woods with the help of THE CROSSING GUARD.

Tommy concentrates his total attention on Rei..Tracking along side her for a few paces then.. He steps out from his hiding place.​

Why is Tommy stalking the Popular Rei?
What path will Tommy follow from now on?
