Zaraki Kenpachi just had a mental and physical near death experience. He went shikai post Unohana after several deaths. I theorize Mayuri's fear attack will unlock every last seal and restraint in Zaraki and when his body recovers, then he will be bankai-stronger.

I'm sorry to say but yes he is he's very close at that..if he's stronger than unohana by a mile an she was part of the original getei 13 which was the strongest than yea he's pretty close to yama in power.

Naw I dissagree with that we have yet to see what He can really do meaning he needs to fight with his shikai activated an his eye patch off..he became close to yama in shikai the moment he activated his shikai...they did not label him 1 of the 5 war potentials for nothing.

OT: Unohana already did that, Zaraki unlocking shikai was due to Nozaroshi acknowledging he was finally mentally and physically worthy of getting to know him, now that he knows Nozaroshi's name, he can train with him to unlock bankai

Lol no kyoraku was not part of the original gotei 13 It was formed over 1000 years ago he was just a kid then...he actually went to school first to become a captain there was no school for the original gotei 13.
Just read the last pages of chapter of 523 when kyoraku talks about the original gotei 13.

I honestly wouldnt say he got defeated but didnt even try nor care
this wasnt even a fight to him so i dont think this boosted him up in the slightest
