Tony Stark is wearing his usual suit for a party while leaning against a training dummy in the training grounds with his katana hanging across his back (similar to Sasuke) as he awaits his old friend.

*I do not teach Kenjutsu and JM with techniques, merely un-augmented Kenjutsu; the basics and fundamentals for understanding how to properly wield a blade. Credits go to Keotsu for the exceptional teaching method.*

"Now, I'd like you to begin by telling me what you know about Kenjutsu, and what it is to you."

Alright I can finally call you Sensei xd

Kenjutsu is the Japanese swordsmanship. This swordsmanship is developed through various different ways of wielding a blade, though the general term of using a blade in combat is kenjutsu. This art is the use of a sword or several swords wielding by the shinobi or particularly samurai and it can be combined with taijutsu and ninjutsu and some shinobi like you i believe can use it with genjutsu xd The most unique warriors with the blades are the seven swordsmen here on NB. To me kenjutsu is the simple use of a blade, though many people make it look easy I have experienced that it is extremely difficult to perfectly handle a blade which is an extension of your own body. And the reason why I want to learn kenjutsu is because it is in my honest opinion one of the most interesting fighting styles and it is better than taijutsu in my eyes. O_O dont flame me!!! xd

i'm going to quote the person that taught me Kenjutsu.

"Hm, not bad. Everyone tends to have their own definition as to what Kenjutsu really is, however a universal truth remains; Kenjutsu is the art of the sword. Do not think of the blade as merely a weapon, but an extension of your soul. Many people believe in one of the following:

That if you do not respect the sword, you are not fit to wield one.
That if you do not fear the sword, you are not fit to wield one.

Kenjutsu refers to the technique of the sword, and therefore things such as a lance would not fit into the same category. Such things would fall under the category of weapon play. Overall your description was not bad."
Let me know if you have questions.

Now to begin training, could you begin describing to me the difference between a One-Handed and a Two-Handed Slash?

Besides the obvious of course.

Well first off a two handed slash for example is more powerful due to you using both arms to create the slash giving it more force, especially when you are making a downwards slash towards your opponent. The one handed slash is weaker but faster in my eyes i believe and it is more versatile as it is easier to move one and than both hands around, so for movement i suggest the one hand though for power you might want to use both hands. O_O not sure if that is what you wanted????

Hmm, not completely off.

One Handed Slashes are not as fast as Two Handed, as well as being less powerful. However they allow for easy maneuverability and they are easy to follow up and chain attacks after. Two Handed Slashes are more powerful, and faster due to having more force behind them, but offer less maneuverability and are harder to follow up.

Drop the Katana as we are going to use Bokken for saftey and for this training.

*Hands you a Bokken*

Now that we've distinguished the difference between those two, I'd like for you to perform a One Handed Horizontal Slash on the training dummy here.

Horizontal going like this (____)

Yes i was almost right O_O

Alright Bokken, it could be fun to use for torture xd

I take the bokken in my right hand and turn to face the dummy which stands just in range of the bokken, so as I turn I use the momentum it would create on the bokken to build up speed and strength as i hold it tight, so when i turn the momentum and strength of the bokken is greatly increased and will deliver a stronger blow then if you would simply slash horizontally without moving. O_O

Same .... different method xd

I am still facing the dummy, though this time I jump slightly above the ground while moving a few inches forward with the blade above my head slashing down onto the dummys right shoulder slamming it into it with full force gaining the momentum of my jump and moving forward to give the bokken more strength once again. It is a forward thrust towards your opponent, pointing the katana or what ever kind of sword your wielding. A powerful thrust usually aiming for the chest or stomach of the opponent, which is usually used with two hands for more power to have a better chance at penetrating a persons chest or stomach killing them almost instantly. It is possible to use one hand though it is not as effective and a one handed attack with a sword is more maneuverable though it is easier to deflect.

I tend to disagree on that the fact it's easier and more accurate on a stab with one hand. Two hands it leaves you too open imo.

Now, since earlier we distinguished the difference between one handed and two handed slashes, can you demonstrate for me a Two-Handed Horizontal Slash?

I see your point that it leaves you more open though I disagree that it is more accurate, though it is easier to wield the blade with one hand, though two handed more powerful.

I hold the bokken with both hands slightly to the right of my head and as I lead the bokken down into a horizontal angle I step forward with my left foot while simultaneously making the horizontal slash with my two hands leading the bokken towards the dummy slamming into it with a larger force than if it had been a one handed slash. I'm a crazy monkey O__O

Is it very good because I'm a crazy monkey xd

I hold the bokken just like previously and I then proceed to hold the bokken with both hands above my head as I again jump slightly above the ground delivering a two handed vertical slash down upon the dummy's head smashing it flat. This can be used like for example making a front flip giving it more momentum but leaves you open? and if you make a back flip the blade will hit the nuts xd

I don't think you should try that.....

Now, do you know what a Lunge is?

To be honest I dont know what lunge is, and since I haven't heard of it in swordsmanship, and this is about swords but not as I know of a sword move or anything like that, I'm guessing it is some sort of stance or something.

Its a variation of a stab. When you stab you use your arms mostly, but in a lunge you use your body weight to thrust forwards, however leaving you wide open for attacks.

Here is a take on the matter from Keatu

KeotsuEclipse:
Stabs are less powerful, but can have a higher fatality, due to their speed- you can get in and out, quickly. But, they do also cover a shorter distance.

Lunges are full-body, where as stabs use only your arms; so, they have much more power behind them, but also leave you open, due to the way that can be preformed.

This woman demonstrates a very good lunge in SPORT fencing. Being as this is battle training, our form is a bit different - your movement will be quicker, harsher, and you'll most likely flair your arm diagonally behind you to stabilize instead of diagonally behind you.
