Okay, show me your preferred blade for this lesson and tell me a little bit about it; the effect its size and weight has in battle, size of the grip etc.
Then tell me why you want to learn Kenjutsu and you intend to utilise it along side your developing skill set.
Well I haven't created the bio with the sword yet, I can't find the length of the sword but it looks about a meter and it is a very balanced sword but the length is a bit of a problem because it isn't very big, the grip fits perfectly into my palm and feels like an extention of my hand, it doesn't effect my ability to move in battle because it is quite light but is very strong.
I want to learn Kenjutsu because I enjoy using hand to hand combat and having a sword that fits me perfectly would be a great deal of help, I will enjoy using my skills that I am currently learning together with Kenjutsu and I plan to use it in all my battles.
I personally think that using 1 hand to grip the sword is better, when you hold the sword with 1 hand, you have more speed to your swing and you are able to move your body freely as if the sword is apart of your hand. When you use 2 hands to hold the sword, you have more power in your swing but you don't move as fast, I guess that the effect it has is based on the situation you find yourself in, if you are fighting some1 with raw power then you should hold the sword with 2 hands and if you are fighting some1 smaller but much faster, you should hold you sword with 1 hand so you can keep up
Indeed, also with one hand you have the option of using some taijutsu or throwing ninja tools etc. Even performing basic ninjutsu to supplement your kenjutsu.
To induct you into the world of Kenjutsu, I want to have a brief freeform exchange with you. Kenjutsu only, you can supplement with taijutsu if you feel the need to though I must say that sword use is the aim of this next part.
I have my sword on my left hip, make the first move.
*Shinta takes up a defensive stance, right foot in front of his left while holding on the the sheath of his sword using his left hand and his right hand hovering just over the handle. Shinta maintains eye contact with his student, ready for his first move.*
well this will be my 1st battle of any kind so I hope I'm not to bad XD
As I notice senseis stance I remove my sword that is on my back and hold it in my right hand, I charge towards sensei but I keep to his left as I notice his sword is on his left hip(I keep to his left because if I keep to his right and then move to his left, I would be creating the force needed to help him kill me by just sticking his sword in me). As I approach sensei I slide on the floor and try to take out his legs by kicking him, I anticipate that he will jump into the air and try to avoid me which will enable me the chance to try and poke him in mid air
As his student runs towards him and moves into a slide-tackle, Shinta begins to draw his sword with his right hand, while stepping out to his right side (your left). As he does this, Shinta points the tip of his blade downwards and uses the momentum of his students slide to make a small cut along his chest, finishing up at his chin.
As I am sliding on the ground I notice sensei draw his sword with his right hand and step to my left, while still slidng on the ground, I quickly turn my sword to a horisontal angle and hold it with both my hands as I adjust my body on the ground, knocking away senseis sword from in front of me as I lie flat on my back. I quickly get up and step back with my right leg behind my left and my sword in my right hand with my left hand in my ninja pouch as I await senseis move

As his student moves his sword into a horizontal position, Shinta plants his feet firmly, right in front of left, as he points the tip of his sword straight at his student. As he points his sword, Shinta thrust forward in such a way that the tip of his blade will miss his student, but the hand-guard of his blade locks against the hand-guard of his student's while keeping his student's blade on the outside of his defence so as to not be hit.
and we can go on infinitely from there...
Walk over to that training dummy and proceed to attack it with a series of slashes, varying from vertical to horizontal and everything in between. Also, imagine the training dummy is an actual person and state possible injuries each of your slashes will cause, as you land each hit.

(Ikari Nomikomu no Jutsu) - Fury Swallow Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 25
Description: The user punches the opponent a few times and finishes them with two final slashes with their blade or sword.
Do pretty much the same with this jutsu, however you will first attack with some punches and two final slashes of your choosing, I'd go with two diagonal slices as they tend to be easier to switch into.
As I approach my opponent while holding my sword with both my hands and my left foot ahead of my right as I slowly approach. Once I get within striking distance, I raise my hands slightly to the height of my stomach and make an upwards slash across his chest (which which would make a severe cut that but nothing more) and while my hands are still in the air I swing my hands downward to make a diagonal slash (making a deeper cut which causes blood to shoot out from the wound) and finally using as much force as I can to move my hands upwards with my sword pointing up to drive my sword underneath his chin and straight through his head
As I approach my opponent, I hold my sword in a reverse grip with my right hand. Once I'm within striking distance, I punch him in his torso right->left->right->left-> and then upper cut him with my right hand which causes his head to face the sky because of the force. While his head is still facing up, I switch my grip of my sword to normal and make a diagonal slash across his chest (makes deep cut) which causes him to crouch down slightly clutching his chest and as he crouches down, I drive my sword straight back down to cut of his head

So yeah, that's basically that jutsu O__O' Spin around on the spot, holding your sword out, parallel to the ground. The spinning will allow you to make several hits on your target and/or fend off against multiple opponents. Try not to spin more than once, as after that your speed will decrease too much to sustain strong hits.
Ryu removes his sword from his back and holds it in his right hand, with several targets around him, he raises his right hand to a 90 degree angle and moves his right leg slighty to the right(his left leg would be vertical but slighty bent and his right leg will be diagonal, almost like he is crouching down). As his opponents near him, he uses his stance to his advantage by pushing of his right leg(his left leg will be vertical and not bent while his right leg will be slighty of the ground) and spinning his body in a counter clockwise direction with his right hand spread out, slashimg his opponents on their chest and then Ryu places his right leg on the ground which stops him from spinning again
( Rakkasui ) - Falling Water

In this attack, you'll use your sword as a sort of Pogo-stick... landing on your targets head if possible. Leap up into the air before pointing the tip of your blade down towards the ground, lifting your feet up so they rest a around half-way up the blade but positioned so that you can safely land on the ground if you miss. Hold your weight close to the sword for maximum impact and hold on firmly to the handle... simply so the force is not wasted.
Ryu removes his sword off his back and holds it in his right hand. He charges towards his opponent and leaps into the air, whilst still airbourne, he flips forward twice to gain momentum and as he stops flipping while descending with force, he points his sword downward while holding it with both his hands and raises his legs to the half way mark of his sword. With enough momentum gained, Ryu descends and his sword pierces through his opponents head and his legs on his opponents shoulders, he then pulls the sword out and backflips off his opponent and lands on his feet as his opponents lifelss body falls to the ground
Suburb, nice flourish. Though be careful how flashy you make yourself in combat... an airborne target is an easy one to hit.
(Bakuchi Tori Kuzu Oujou) – Gambling Bird Arrowroot Death
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user bolts in front of the enemy who they then strike with their sword handle before delivering several kicks that sends the enemy into the air. The user then bolts across to the far off location of the enemy who they then punch violently into an obstacle.
You don't necessarily have to bolt at your target, just be in close enough reach to draw your sword enough, so that it is still in its scabbard but enough so the pommel of the handle can strike your target; aiming for the gut for easy reach and to wind them for a moment. This will allow you knee them, spin on the spot and kick them and several other kicks... be creative with your kicks, remembering that you can do all sorts of damage with your kicks (within reason). One final kick will send your target airborne, you'll chase on foot and intercept their landing... with a solid punch, slamming them into a tree, rock or the ground.
Now, how could you use this in battle? Also perform the move, describing in detail your hits, what you aim for etc...
Lol I won't do that in battle, I'm just enjoying my training
Ryu removes his sword from his back(holds it in his right hand) and charges at his opponent, once he is within striking range(1-2 feet), he leaps into the air to try and knee his opponent with his right knee on his chin(his opponent would try and block it with both his hands) and as his opponent blocks with his hands, Ryu swings his sword in a downward arc(the blade would be pointing toward the sky and the handle about to knock his block) and hits his opponent on his head with the pommel of the sword. Whilst his opponent is in pain and holding his head, Ryu jumps forward with his knee pointing outward and knees his opponent in his abdomen which causes him to crouch over while holding his abdomen in pain, Ryu kicks in an upward arc with his right leg, kicking him in his face due to him bending over in pain. His head lifts back as he stands upright again with several parts of his body paining, not knowing which part to hold, Ryu quickly puts his sword back in the scabbard and leans back, placing his 2 hands on the ground behind him for support, he raises his legs quickly and pushes off his hands like a spring to kick his opponent under his chin with his legs and launching him the air, once his opponent is airborne, Ryu runs towards the area he is falling and creates a pillar in front of him that he runs up and leaps into the air above his opponent and then drives his right fist into his chest, sending him crashing into the ground
That's cool then, I'm all for enjoying training... to bad I tend to be pretty sparse with my replies :T_T:
These two are somewhat similar, in the sense they require a bit of shape manipulation of your chakra around the blade.
(Rensei Shinkuken) – Drilling Crimson Blade
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user takes out their blade and channels chakra into it. They then run towards the opponent, slashing them upwards into the air and then appear above him/her, and deliver a sharp, drilling slash down upon them, impelling them into the ground.
The description tells you what you need to do... what I'm interested in is if you understand the chakra manipulation. Tell me what your chakra is doing around the sword and the effects of it on your opponent. When it says drilling slash, it means you are thrusting the point of your blade towards your target...
(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user does a simple cresent-shaped slash at the opponent, expelling a red chakra wave.
Simple stuff, you do this with many wind jutsu with either your sword or hands... Describe to me what you are doing with your chakra and attack that pillar of solid rock; as per usual, full description of how you strike and the effects you aim for on the target.
Holy shit almost 2 weeks, sorry about the late reply, my threads have been getting unsubscribed lately and I just found this 1 now :'(
Lol no worries sensei, I understand your RL is busy
1ST JUTSU
Kid(new bio in sig) draws his sword that's on his left hip with his right hand, while holding his sword, he starts channeling chakra into his right hand and simultaneously releases it into his sword, using shape manipulation to shape it around the blade of the sword, enhancing its strength and cutting capabilities. He then charges towards his opponent with his hands at his sides and as he approaches striking distance, he swings his right hand in a upward arc, slashing his opponent on his chest which cuts him severely and bleeds out rather quickly due to the chakra enhance blade while sending him flying into the air, Kid then crouches down while channeling chakra into the bottom of his feet and pushes of them, leaping high enough to position himself behind his target. Once airborne and behind his opponent who is oblivious to the fact that Kid is behind him, Kid rotates his body as quick as he can while pointing his sword downwards towards his target, drilling the sword into his back as they descend while creating less wind resistance to increase the speed and power at which he sends his opponent crashing into the ground while he lands safely on the ground
2ND JUTSU
With his sword still in his right hand, Kid begins gathering even more chakra into his right hand while releasing chakra into his blade, enhancing its sharpness and cutting power by using shape manipulation to coat the blade with his chakra. With the sword in his right hand at his side, he raises his right hand slightly and swings it a horizontal arc in front of him, releasing a cresent shaped wave of red chakra towards the large boulder, cutting through it easily
The chakra infused in the blade enhances the cutting capabilities and strength of the sword, in this case it also extends the range at which you can attack your opponent, surprising them
(Chakura Bōsekiken) - Chakra Spinning Blade
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will channel chakra into their sword making it glow blue and then jumping into the air they spin at a rapid rate creating a spinning circle and cutting through the enemy target.
Leap into the air after channelling chakra into your blade, a blue hue will appear over the blade, before spinning rapidly in a circle while releasing the chakra. You'll create a blue circle around you that reaches mid-range.
Discuss your views on this jutsu, vulnerabilities, uses etc.
Basically Link's Hold-B attack in Smash Brothers... only Blue and you leap into the air O__O' So his hold-b attack if you first leaped into the air...
What is your training in lightning. Specifically do you know Nagashi?
