It seems all to brief for me, surely you know more about Kenjutsu in real life, you don't have to describe it just on Narutoverse, draw from everything you know of swordsmanship.Kenjutsu is the art of fighting with a sword. Instead of charging your Charka through your hands or feet you mold your Charka in your blade. The blade is an extension of your arm giving you a slightly larger area to attack with in a taijustu fight.
Application:
Centered and concentrated Jutsu attacks like a simple Charka slash of the sword
Focused pin point attacks like when your thrusting or stabbing.

Take a bit more time with your reply i don't expect you to know it all, but Kenjutsu is used in nearly every anime, manga, videogame, so on so forth.

(That's unfortunately the limit of my knowledge. I won't look up something online without understanding it first)
After looking at different types of blades the rapier doesn't seem like me specifically now that I know more about its fighting style. Based off what I learned about the Claymore's fighting I think its more my style.
Do you want details of the sword fighting or just the names?
Well after looking at the positive and negatives yes I feel its the blade that suits my fighting style betterSo you wish to learn the Claymore, or two handed sword fighting style.
The Claymore is a huge hefty blade, excessively powerful and dangerous, however it is slow to swing and even slower to recover from a missed swing.
Looking at these positive and negatives, are you sure this is the style for you, if so i shall begin in earnest.
Ok well, first what would be the differences between a two handed, and a one handed swing with this weapon?Well after looking at the positive and negatives yes I feel its the blade that suits my fighting style better
Minato watches as the target advances towards him, taking careful notice of his stance (you never defined this) he watches as the opponent steps forwards using his right leg. (Again undefined)Izuna catches the broadsword and unsheaths it. Izuna than places the sheath on his back so he doesn't lose it. Izuna takes a calming breath than takes a step forward while slashin diagonal and ending in a front stance.
Minato watches his student again, as he steps forwards, adopting a horse stance and stepping forwards, he moved his left foot forwards, then thrusted his blade using his (undefinded) arm. This time Izuna starts off in a front stance and calmly first thinks about what happened.
"clearly a simple strike won't work I need to come up with a better attack plan"
Izuna grips the broadsword in one hand and takes a deep breath. Izuna takes a backs and places the blade over his shoulder and than takes a half step forward and shift into a horse stance before moving to attack. He moves his left foot forward into a front stance. Once Izuna gets into striking distance he shifts his blade to left and does a thrust while sliding into a back stance. Izuna than after he extends his arm fully slashes horizontally and shifts into a horse stance. After the strike Izuna brings the blade back in front of him and waits for senseis next move.
Better, but instinctively a true swordsman always expects the unexpected. As Izuna gets back up off the ground he rubs his forehead checking for any wounds. After Izuna makes sure he isn't wounded he starts to think of another attack plan.
"Well that attack plan did not work. Well I need to clear my mind before I do anything else"
Izuna focuses his mind on the image of his sword and blocks out anything that doesn't have to do with the sword.
"Lets see I know sensei's extremely fast so I have to use his speed against him some how. Lets see he typically likes to dodge at the last second. Hm... perhaps if I focus my attacks towards his sides he won't have the ability dodge by jumping up into the air or ducking. Ah a plan just occurred to me."
Izuna starts off in a back stance and focuses on sensei. Izuna plans his attack while shifting into a horse stance. Izuna than shifts his blade to his left arm. Izuna brings his right arm up and moves towards his sensei. Once Izuna moves close enough to minato he shifts his left arm up and makes sure his right arm is ready to block. Izuna brings his left arm to shoulder before letting blade sag a little bit. Izuna than twists the blade to the edge is heading towards senseis left side near the kidney. As Izuna makes the strike he falls into a front stance. As he finishes his strike he brings his blade back to his left side and moves into a back stance
Minato watches as his student throws a smoke bomb through the air at his location, the minute it hits and erupts in a cloud of smoke, Minato teleports to the seal on the opponents blade, appearing on the opponents right hand side, his kunai pressed against the budding students throat.Izuna moves away from his sensei and starts to come up with another plan. "Hm... Lets see do I have a smoke bomb?" Izuna rummages through his shinobi pouch and takes out a smoke bomb and shifts it into his pocket (right side). "Alright I have the smoke bomb. Now lets see if I toss the smoke bomb beneath him I can use my Sharingan to track him until the mist clears. This would help if he decides to teleport again." Izuna moves the broadsword onto his left shoulder while holding it in his left hand and makes sure that Sensei didn't see his right hand enter his pocket again. Izuna than flung the smoke bomb directly at sensei. Once the smoke bomb explodes releasing a cloud of blue smoke Izuna uses his recently activated sharingan to sense out senseis location. While moving from the horse stance Izuna was in he quickly locates sensei with his sharingan and shifts into a front stance to begin the attack. Izuna slashes sideways at Minato and shift into a back stance to avoid senseis next move. This allows Izuna to track sensei while recovering and planning the next attacked. Izuna than does a thrust while also looking around to make sure sensei wasn't doing anything sneaky. (left side). Izuna shifts into a front stance as he makes the thrust. Once he does the thrust he swings his right foot to change the stance into a horse stance while slashing at sensei at a diagonal.(left arm). As the mist clears Izuna deactivates his sharingan.
