Kenjutsu literally means sword technique. Any thing done with a sword or swords can be Kenjutsu. The two basic hand holds are the one handed and two handed. Using a sword with one hand allows for faster more fluid attacks, while using two hands allow for more powerful strikes sine the power of both hands are used. Another way to hold a sword or blade weapon is the reverse grip. The reverse grip is were the tip of the blade is pointed towards the ground. This grip is best used with shorter blades.

The basic movements of Kenjutsu is slashing and thrusting. Slashing is done with the bladed side of the sword and is usually done horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Thrusting is usually done with the tip of the sword and is an attack that is done with a thrusting motion. Usually a thrust is done in a forward motion but can be done in a vertical manner if the user is above or below the target. Every part of the sword can be used to attack. From the blade to the handle. Usually using the handle to attack is to cause blunt damage and to disorient the opponent. Even the sheathe, if one is available, can be used to attack. Using the sheathe is used for more distracting attacks while the real threat is the sword being held in the other hand.

The most famous users of of Kenjutsu are the seven swords men of the mist, who are all known for there special swords. Most of the kumo ninjas are also proficient in the use of Kenjutsu. Most of the famous toads of myo are also masters of the sword.

Okay Bloo, nicely explain. Now I want you to attack my clone that is on the left of me using free-form sword play. Please be as detailed as you can, since you have to explain how you're attacking, which angle you're striking from and all that nice stuff, then we will get down to the actually techniques, well the ones I can teach you.

I start by taking a deep breathe clearing my mind. This also puts me in a calm state. I then dash towards your clone with my left hand right below the guard of the katana and my right hand on the handle. I dash in a way that i will run pass your clone and end up on his left. So as I near your clone I unsheathe my sword but leave the tip of the blade in and the bladed side pointed outwards. As I pass I cut your clones side and immediately resheathe the sword after the cut. I then turn around, hand still on the sword handle, and slash diagonally across the clones back. As the slash reaches its high point I use the momentum to have the sword spin in my hand so that the sword is now in a reverse grip. I then slash diagonally again going over the first slash that I had made. Again i spin the blade in my hand so that I have it in the regular position. I bring the sword handle up to my face and grab it with both hands. Using the power of both hands I thrust the sword forward into the middle of the clones back. The sword erupts from the front of the clone. The clone then poofs away.

(Ken Rendan no Jutsu) - Sword Barrage Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 25
Description: With this technique, the user will make a sequence of slashes with their sword and finishes with a powerful final slash dealing liberal damage to their enemy.

Pretty much all you have to do is, get in close and take out your sword, deal about 5 or so slashes in any direction on your targets body; once you have completed and dealt the slashes, deal a powerful final slash where ever you want, I would personally use the make the final strike down the middle of his body.

I hate this template so much.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. Contains multiple hits in one.
  • 2.
  • 3.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Is very easy to interrupt.
  • 2.
  • 3.
How you would use it in battle:
Use this while the opponent is bind or distracted.

How you would counter it:
Stop the first slash and the rest of the move is stopped.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can):
I begin by taking a deep breathe, clearing my mind. I grip my sheathe with my left hand, just below the handle of my katana. I then dash towards the training dummy. As I come upon the dummy I place my right hand on my katana and draw it. As I draw it I perform a diagonal slash, going from bottom left to upper right. As soon as the slash is completed I bring the sword straight back down and complete a vertical slash on the dummies left shoulder. Then using the momentum I bring the katana back up and make a diagonal cut in the opposite direction of the first causing an X to appear on the dummies chest. I then perform two more slashes, one vertical, one horizontal. The slashes are done on the dummies chest creating a sort of asterisk. The vertical slash is done last and is from bottom to top, while the horizontal slash is done from left to right. As the blade hangs in the air above the dummies head I grab it with both hands and bring it straight down on the dummies head, splitting it in half.

Question: Why does this have a chakra cost?

Question: Why does this have a chakra cost?
No you don't, it's great. ;3

Pretty sure these are chakra enhanced techniques, so you're adding a small amount of chakra into them, to perform 'em.
Well done and moving on:

(Ikari Nomikomu no Jutsu) - Fury Swallow Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 25
Description: The user punches the opponent a few times and finishes them with two final slashes with their blade or sword.

Go up to my clone and perform a simple forward punch and repeat the punching for a few times, then once you have completed that, grab out your sword and perform two slashes anyway you want, at my clone. This should be enough to make me go poof. This technique is simple yet effective for such a low ranked technique, and can be used in many combos.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. Combines both tai and ken.
  • 2. Can use the combo punches to knock the opponent off balance and open them up for the finishing slashes
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Again multiple hits and thus is easy to interrupt.
How you would use it in battle:
How else but up close. ._. That or use the punches to disable my opponent or to knock him off balance with an upper cut.

How you would counter it:
Again counter the first punch and the rest is easily stopped. Or just move outta range.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can):
I begin by breathing deeply, clearing my mind and letting the oxygen to move though my blood stream carrying it to my muscles. With my muscles all loose I dash towards your clone. As I come upon your clone I dip down winding up my right fist, then using the power of my legs I land a powerful right hook to your clones left rib cage. The punch would cause your clone immense pain. Using this moment I land a left handed hook to the right side of your clones head. To finish off my combo I bend my knees storing up tremendous power. I push upwards while driving my right hand up into your clones chin sending him up into the air. He is hit hard enough to cause him to flip backwards. As you're clone is sent skyward I jump up after him and meet him in the air with his back to the ground. Being above your clone I quickly draw my sword and perform two quick but power slashes across your clones chest. The slashes make an X on his chest. The power of the slashes send him crashing back to the ground.

As you may be aware there are some kenjutsu techniques that requires you to be in the Hidden Cloud village, so in short. I cannot teach you them.

Well done.

(Enjin Ranbu) - Circular Wild Dance
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 25
Description: The user spins with his tantō, hitting the target several times.

I will teach you this one anyway. Take this wooden tanto of mine, then get up close near my clone, then proceed to use the tanto to hit him many times, anyway you want.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. Um maybe the spinning will make it hard to see the blade coming
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. The spinning would make it were your vision disappeared for a moment.
How you would use it in battle:
If I use it id use it as a sneak attack.

How you would counter it:
Move away from the spinning person.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can):
I take the tanto that is handed to me. I turn it over and over getting the feel of it, the weight of it. After I have become accustomed to the dagger like weapon I take it in a reverse grip. With the tanto in the reverse grip I dash towards the target. As i near the target I push my foot off the ground and start to spin like a top. With the spinning I slash across the targets chest with the tanto. I then bend one leg and balance on the other. What this does is lower my body so that second slash hits just above the knee. With the spinning start to slow down I bring my self back up and slash across the stomach making a third cut and to finish the combo.

Good.

(Rakkasui) - Falling Water
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 25
Description: The user will drop down upon the opponent from mid air pointing their sword downwards and drilling it down into the opponent.

Somehow get yourself up into the air, around the mid-air side, above your target then with your sword pointing downwards above them, drill the sword down into them. Handy if you are already up in the air.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. Attack from above making it harder to counter.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Most first get into the air.
How you would use it in battle:
I would launch myself up above my opponent then use this.

How you would counter it:
Stop the opponent for getting into the air or stop them from falling down after they are in the air.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can):
I take a few deep breathes clearing my mind of all distractions. I then rush towards the target. Once I reach the target I kick it in the knee causing it to buckle and lower its stance. As it tries to recover I thrust my leg forward into the targets chest knocking it onto its back. As the target is knocked down I leap into the air and draw my sword. As I get to the top of the jump I point my sword downward. I then come plummeting down towards the target. I then land on the target drilling into the target.

Good, now I want 2 advantages and disadvantages for each since we are now on B-ranks.

(Bakuchi Tori Kuzu Oujou) – Gambling Bird Arrowroot Death
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user bolts in front of the enemy who they then strike with their sword handle before delivering several kicks that sends the enemy into the air. The user then bolts across to the far off location of the enemy who they then punch violently into an obstacle.

Okay with this one, I want you to run up or bolt as it says towards my clone, using your sword handle I want you to hit the clone once, then proceed to kick him, many times and with the finally kick send him up into the air, now as the clone is falling, I want you to punch him so it sends him flying into the tree behind yes, this technique is good since it's one technique with some many attacks, only bad thing is that is your target manages to block/counter lets say the kicks, the whole technique would else flop.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. A combo of Tai and ken to throw the opponent off.
  • 2. Great if you can get the whole thing off.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Too many attacks
  • 2. If used straight forward it would be a worthless move.
How you would use it in battle:
Due to the many attacks it would be best to use if the opponent was distracted.

How you would counter it:
Due to the many hits stopping the first would disrupt the whole thing.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can):
I begin by taking a few deep breathes clearing my mind of all distractions as I place my left hand on my sheathe just below where the sword enters. I then bolt towards your clone with tremendous speed. I then appear in front and flick the guard of my sword. The flick is chakra enhanced so that it has power behind it. The sword handle speeds into the clones face. A split second after the flick I detach my sheathe and chase after the sword so that it looks like the whole thing was shot forward instead of the sword only being flicked. The handle hit gives me an opening to spin around delivering a spinning back kick to the clones stomach. After the kick I fall backwards and at the same time I bring my right leg up forcing it into the clones chin living him into the air. Getting back into an upright stance I await as the clone comes back down. As it nears the perfect spot I ball my hand into a fist. I then ram my fist into the clones stomach sending the clone flying into the trees.

Great.

(Rensei Shinkuken) – Drilling Crimson Blade
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user takes out their blade and channels chakra into it. They then run towards the opponent, slashing them upwards into the air and then appear above him/her, and deliver a sharp, drilling slash down upon them, impelling them into the ground.

Okay so with this one, you'll need to channel some chakra into your blade from there, run towards my clone, then by using your sword slash your sword upwards on the body of my clone, this should push him into the air, then you'll want to appear above him, by using your sword once more hit him with a drilling slash that sends him into the ground, with of course the sword also impelled into him.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. the blade is chakra charged
  • 2. Very short tech leaving less openings.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. While the opponent is in the air it gives them time to counter.
  • 2. The running could get you easily countered
How you would use it in battle:
Well while my opponent is distracted as they could easily counter while I run at them.

How you would counter it:
Counter the first slash or as the opponent runs toward me.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can):
I begin by closing my eyes and taking in a few deep breathes to clear my mind. I then place my hand on the scarrab just below the guard. Using my thumb I push the sword out of the scarrab by an inch I then grab the hilt and charge toward your clone. As I run I charge my chakra into the sword. As I get into range I unsheathe the sword and deliver a slash to the clone. The slash sends him into the air. As the clone is sent into the air I jump upwards after hum. I then appear above the clone and deliver a drilling slash. That sends him back towards the ground and I land on top of him stabbing my sword into him for good measure.

(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user does a simple cresent-shaped slash at the opponent, expelling a red chakra wave.

This one is one of the more used techniques, since it is straight forward and well easy to pull off, what I want you to do is, gather your chakra in your blade and from there, I want you slash downwards to release a crescent shaped slash, at my clone. This technique releases a red wave of chakra, it's handy for targets that are at mid-range of you, and just an overall good technique.

One/three advantages:
  • 1. Can be used in mid range.
  • 2. A very quick tech.
  • 3. Can be done by just quickly unsheathing the sword.
One/three disadvantages:
  • 1. Is raw chakra thus beatable by c rank and below elemental chakra.
  • 2. Can be easily seen coming.
How you would use it in battle:
In mid range as I start to run as to be able to get closer, since they will have to counter the wave instead of worring about me.

How you would counter it:
A wood wall. Water bullet. Anything c rank and up.

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can):
I begin b breathing deep clearing my mind of all thoughts except for the target before me. My feet are spread evenly apart with my left foot behind my right, making my fetal diagonal from each other. I then place my left hand on my scarrab with my thumb pressed up against the guard of the sword. I then channel my chakra into the sheathed sword. In one fluid motion I push the sword up with my thumb while also grabbing it with my right hand. I then swing the sword horizontally. As I swing my sword I release the pent up chakra, the chakra is released in the form of a red wave.
