To Pimp a Butterfly

or

Forest Hills Drive 2014

?

Personally I think this is an obvious question, but some argued that J. Cole's album (strictly comparing those two albums) stands a chance. I mean K.Dot's album was legendary! Just felt like sharing that. adios!

Oh man.

To be honest. TPAB is incredibly good and delivers a strong message no matter your race.

On the other hand, Forest Hills Drive feels like an album that doesn't try to be as groundbreaking as TPAB but still manages to tell a story and give insight on J.Cole while feeling somewhat being relatable on certain songs.

I mean People are going to say GKMC is a classic or TPAB is a classic or Section .80 is classic. They're no doubt good albums and very consistent.

2014 Forest Hills Drive and TPAB to me, give different vibes.

But the sheer fact that 2014 Forest Hills Drive went platinum with Zero Features means that J. Cole hasn't fell off and still growing.

I personally like J. Cole's more because it's his life. His story. It's more real in my eyes. TPAB is brilliant, but it won't be recognized for years to come. I think Cole's was a classic of this era because of its relatability. Kendrick's will be a classic in the next era I hope. This era of rap fans don't relate well to politics like that.

Well it depends ...

In terms of Production J. Coles was superior
Storytelling Cole by a little
Message.. Kendrick by a landslide
Lyrics definitely go to Kendrick , in my opinion hes a little better than cole in terms of lyricism, for now though J.Cole is developing more and more by the second and i feel kendricks new album is still in the shadow of Good Kid .

TBAP was awesome. Forest Hill Drive too but man I really love TPAB especially the song alright. I was seriously vibing. its so different and I think it will need some time to be accepted by some who are still living in Section 80, GKMC. imo jcole and Kendrick top 2. Drake was up there but I really don't care for his stuff right now.

Don't care for either of them right now. I applaud the pro black messages, but I haven't been anxious to f*ck with either of their albums.

I got halfway through Earl's album and stopped it..just wasn't feelin it...don't care to peep Drake's simp music mixed in w/ club bangers. I couldn't care less about Wale...I don't f*ck w/ Meek like that...none of these n*ggas are interesting me, honestly...

I do, however, wanna hear Isaiah Rashad more...that's prolly one of the only ones out of this class of rappers I think. I'm not the trendy type...

I wish success for both artists listed in the OP tho...as I laugh at that fruit cup flopping Lol

Forest Hills had some fantastic storytelling, but TPAB was literally a masterpiece. GKMC was certainly a better and more fun, but who honestly thinks TPAB was meant to be? Great storytelling, lyricism that's up there with the best of 'em, and a strong message that couldn't have come out at a better time.
