I'm not too sure but I think it's about the hypocrisy in the black community and he might be trying to spread awareness on the subject. So I don't think it's counter productive. I could be way off though, lol.

You were probably thinking "not this shit again" when you first saw it, lol. I think it's some of that too but Kendrick's trying to focus on issues like how black on black murder is so common yet people protest when a white man kills a black man.
