hey virgil.. I dont know how you knew his strings were there for you to blow fire down them. If you had said something like "I feel your strings beginning to surround me, so I send fire down the line using..." Then It would be different, but what you are doing is basically making your turn before his. You should react to his first jutsu before you do one of your own ^-^.
