location: desert oasis
reason: gaara defends naruto from kisame who is trying to assist in capturing the nine tails
standards: both at 100% chakra however stamina and energy are low for kisame due to battling and defeating a previous defender (kankuro...so we know gaara is pissed). gaara must either defeat kisame or hold him off in order for naruto to escape.

who wins? and does gaara succeed in holding him off?

There are very few people that can beat Gaara in a desert and Kisame isn't one of them.

Desert, obviously Gaara. Anywhere else, it would be pretty even. Kisame would have to make water, and Gaara would have to make sand. Although Gaara would still have the advantage. People don't realize that sand is porous, water would just fall to the ground if sand is spread out. It would also somewhat help his defense, making it thinker/stronger, just harder to move.

gaara bi far has anyone put water on sand sand just absorbs it and also i kisame can drain chakra he has to hit gaara only rock lee has managed to do that with his own fist

to be honest im not gonna say no 100 percent gara is one bomb ass shinobi but once his sand entered the bubble i dont think he could control it enough to split the bubble it would jus turn to mud and i think gara would crush alota ppl especially in the desert but kisame is jus gara worst possible match up he could face with kisame draining his chakra so fast i dont think he has a chance
