also to help him more we know more about Deidara now and we've seen more of him being a bit of an idiot rather than the cool, mysterious Akatsuki member we thought he was back in that first arc. There's less tension surrounding him and I doubt Deidara would be able to survive as long as Gaara did against Madara.
