think again, the sage has limit of time and Gaara don't need to fight him in close range" he could just fly"XD
Maybe his new skill is a sand armor, i think he improve his tai jutsu sence his automatic defense shield which his beast he loss once gave him.

Naruto used alot of FRS so in the Pain/Naruto sage mode probably looked a lot shorter then it was plus he has numerous clones if he went that method. Naruto has frog summons to breach that distance and can use clones to fight in the air as shown in sage training with Pa.

Aye but these are sage clones we're talking about. They pack some extra punch plus Naruto is the master of surprises. He always finds a way.

When Kankuro had defeated Sasori he gave him his mom and dad puppets or maybe all of his puppets idk I have to go back and read it, but I'm too lazy right now
