Kankuro vs. Neji

Who do you guys think would win? Kankuro vs Neji at their current ability level.
Location is the third training ground. Both are fully aware of each other's abilities.

i think kankuro will win because he will stay at large distance and when neji will attack him, he will do replacement technique with his puppet.

don't forget that now he has 4 puppets and i think that sasori will be one of his strongest puppets.

Well since Neji can see where Kankuro's puppets/traps are, he'll have the edge if he can just move in close. Otherwise Kankuro would probably win.

fact : he is a mid-range fighter who uses puppets, kunais and poison. Neji is a short range fighter who uses taijutsu. -> so, if kankuro stays on long range he can beat Neji

gonna go with neji, with his almost 360 degree sight, his palms rotation and gentle fist, he could win if he gets close enough, if he blocks kankarou's chakra he cant cantrol the puppets and then he's screwed

neji would just kaiten until kankuro left an opening (which nejo would see where he was with the byakugan) then move in for the kill. I only think kankuro wins if neji gets poisoned but i could be wrong

neji he is quick, smart one of the best taijutsu user in the manga, can do mid range attacks and can see everything with his byakugan.

Kankuro is a long range fighter so he will keep his distance from Neji whiles Neji has to get close to him. Kankuro has Sasori as puppet together with others and also with the help of the byakugan, Neji can see his moves easily and if he manages to get close to him, Kankuro will be in trouble. so i think the smartest one wins.

I would say Neji would win. People talk about KanKuro being a mid-range attacker and winning because of that...have y'all forgot about the spider curse mark dude that Neji defeated in the Rescue Sasuke Arc? Kankuro and that dude are very similar in there attack style and Neji came out on top...oh and that guy knew Neji's blind spot. All in all, I think the battle would start out Kankuro owning Neji, but in the end Neji gets the win.

kankuro has many tricks, but do you really think he could stay much time doing his kaiten??

Neji won't win with this jutsu, kanurou isn't that bad... from mid-range he would "easily" avoid that attack.

True that, but has we already have seen, Neji has a lot of skills when it comes to dodge kunai's and other objects.

And if even Sakura (with Chiyo) managed to defeat Sasori (and i'm not saying Sasori is better or worse than Kankuro, just that Sasori is really powerfull), I think Kankuro would give a hard fight to Neji (or vice-versa).

But as I said, Neji is not stupid, with his byakugan he can manage to see Kankuro's whereabouts, Neji wins this one.

... And puppets are manipulated by chakra strings, and we know what happens if Neji manages to touch one of those chakra strings

I think Kankuro has a chance of winning this. Just because Neji could see through his puppets doesn't mean he'll be able to stop them. The puppets won't go down that easily. Even if Neji does manage to smash them, Kankuro could still use their individual parts and keep Neji on his toes. He could distract Neji with a flurry of poison needles, causing him to use kaiten while Kankuro hides Salamander underground (kaiten can't reach there). Salamander tosses Neji up in the air where he can't use kaiten and Kankuro uses this as an opportunity to poison him. Plus, Kankuro has better stamina and if Neji tried to get close to him, Kankuro can just use puppet substitution (That or block his attacks with a chakra shield).

But kaiten is not the only way to defend agaisnt needles ...
Sakura didn't used kaiten to defend agaisnt the attacks of Sasori ...
