Hey guys. I was inspired to make this topic by the debate I had with Darth Uchiha in one of the topics about Kamui. I don't intend to raise the hype or downplay either subject on the matter.
Both subjects are described as being invincible or haxxed and yet we've never gotten the official answer as to which one prevails if they clash. Kamui is said to have no defense against it and that it can distort and draw any target in. Yata mirrors is said to defend against any attack and apply its attributes of that attack rendering it useless.
A lot of people disregard the word "attack". Simple Google defines this word as:
Verb
1.
take aggressive military action against (a place or enemy forces) with weapons or armed force.
"in February the Germans attacked Verdun"
synonyms: begin an assault, charge, pounce, strike, begin hostilities, ambush
2.
criticize or oppose fiercely and publicly.
"he attacked the government's defence policy"
synonyms: criticize, censure, condemn, castigate, chastise, lambaste, pillory, savage, find fault with, fulminate against, abuse;
Noun
1.
an aggressive and violent act against a person or place.
"he was killed in an attack on a checkpoint"
synonyms: assault, onslaught, offensive, strike, blitz, raid, sortie, sally, storming, charge, rush, drive, push, thrust, invasion, incursion, inroad;
destructive action by a disease, chemical, or insect.
"the tissue is open to attack by fungus"
a determined attempt to tackle a problem or task.
"an attack on inflation"
forceful and decisive style in performing music or another art.
"the sheer attack of Hendrix's playing"
2.
an instance of fierce public criticism or opposition.
"he launched a stinging attack on the Prime Minister"
synonyms: criticism, censure, rebuke, admonition, admonishment, reprimand, reproval;
Now, a lot of people don't consider Kamui an attack because it doesn't have any conventional effect. Note the Noun section and see the synonyms to this word. I already said it in another topic but "invasion" fits quite nicely in this scenario. Kamui invades another space by distorting it and altering it. The best argument here to oppose that would be the fact that Kamui doesn't attack any object. No, you're right, it doesn't. But, it attacks space and in that space, any object is a part of it. Which means that Yata can adapt its attributes to Kamui's process just as well as any other conventional attack.
In another words, Yata can repel Kamui by simple deduction of the official description's words used here. This thread isn't for bashing or downplaying. Just thought I'd put this here as just another point of view since at the end of the day, we don't have any facts regarding the conclusion about this debate.
