At that time he didn't even had his secret jutsus(he didn't had 5hearts,5affinities), and now he has much more experience. Mokuton for example can be burn by fire, he has great arrays of jutsus and has super doton defense. Who do you think could win if they fight again??

To be honest i don't see wood element to be that special I only think people feared it because Hashirama most have been one powerful ninja, i honestly think there's more to him then what kishimoto is showing recently he can heal himself with out making any seals, and he was a good genjutsu user.

But my vote still goes to Hashirama

it was after he failed to assassinate Hashi he got em. since he failed, his village locked him up and he felt betrayed. thats when he got mad, stole the kinjutsu, the hearts of the dudes there and fled to join akatsuki

From my point of view Harashima with high difficulty due to hype. If it werent for hype I wouldn't give him that because Kakuzu can use 5 elements at the same time. Harashima only has Wood >_O And earth and water. Kakuzu can just spam elements from everywhere and from my point of view they are equal on experience, knowledge and all other stats. Only difference Kakuzu has more elements and Harashima has medical jutsu.

Though for the sake of arguing Kakuzu wins U_U

In his flight from the village, Kakuzu killed the village elders, took their hearts, and fled with knowledge of the village's most prized forbidden techniques. He made a living off bounty hunting. He also tore out the still-beating hearts of powerful shinobi to extend his own lifespan. Some time after his defection, he joined Akatsuki, and was given a number of partners, most of whom he killed, due to his short temper. This is why he was eventually partnered with Hidan, whom he could not kill because of his immortality.
Also at some time in the past, he apparently encountered the Gold and Silver Brothers and witnessed Kinkaku's jinchūriki transformation.
