I think he can. Kakuzu takes this, with much effort though. Thanks to Doton: Domu and his five hearts he's not easy to kill, but nonetheless possesses great offensive strength. I can't see Jiraiya winning here, especially because he needs about ten minutes to enter the Sennin Modo.

Those 'mindless puppets' are capable of using elemental Ninjutsu on a really high level - high enough to kill Jiraiya's toads. Jiraiya himself, without Sennin Modo, doesn't even know a technique that could hurt Kakuzu, since Doton: Domu makes his body as hard as diamond, and its only weakness seems to be Raiton.

The J-man opens up a can of whoop ass Sage jutsus on him owning his 4mask tendrils..Kakuzu Unique ability is his 5 lives and possesion of 5 high level elemental attacks. He can also have faux tendril bodies attack you with these element independent of his body nut this leaves him with just one heart if he separates....Jaraiya outclasses him big time his Earth jutsus can be countered by his Toad Eso****us jutsus instant K.O there only Ameratsu has shown to break it..In Sage Mode he stomps his fire and earth jutsus and Giant Rasengan can do him in Jaraiya is stupid fast in Sage mode.
wtf ? stronger than his summons , those puppet can not use use ninjutusu , he has to control them , he is the one saying the jutsu

and if was able to get into sage mood while fighting pain than ... you know ...
and you say he doesn't have any technique that can hurt kakuzo , what about he goes invisible using Transparent Escape Technique and than touches kakuzo's head and turn him into a frog
and i can go on and on about his abilities , like that group genjutsu and his ransingans , and the giant lava ocean which he makes by mixing his frog's oil release with air release and fire release , and he can use his Barrier: Canopy Method Formation to detect if one of those puppets is trying to get a sneak attack , or he can use Barrier: Toad Gourd Prison to capture him like he did to that path and how he did to itachi , exept itachi had Amaterasu

In the data-book Kakashi has 34.5 (and he's the one who's called Konoha's strongest Shinobi in the data-book, by the way), still he got owned by Kakuzu pretty bad along with Choji & Ino. Jiraiya was about to become Hokage - and so is Tsunade. Do you think that she could defeat Kakuzu, too? He doesn't have to controll his beasts. He simply has to do the signs for the real strong techniques, like Katon: Zukkoku, Raiton: Gian or Futon: Atsugai. Yes, those techniques seem to be enough to get rid of the toads. Never mind they can fly.

do i have to name all his jutsu
and as i said , how could things that don't have minds and need kakuzo to preform there strong jutsu defeat cheaf toad for example
and pain couldn't dodge that sea of flames without sucking the technique , you can't just say he can
and what about all the other things i mentioned

Bad idea to compare kakashi's fight since it was not 1on1 ,kakashi fought hidan and kakuzu in same time and could even save choiji shika and ino's life.
if kakashi can take kakuzu ,it will be same for jiraiya.
