Kakashis Eye Power!?

Was it ever explained how Kakashi unlocked the next stage of the Sharingan? Do you think its possible that it unlocked at the same time as Obitos in a kind of connected fashion? Or was it just training or personal tragedy IE Rins death? Kakshi only revealed the ability in Shippuden but its possible it lay dormant? I just cant remember if its been explained how he got the ability?

It was never explained how either of them unlocked there's but, They didn't unlock it at the same time cuz Obito fought Minato with MS and Kakashi just unlocked his in part 2.

Maybe the connected explanation. If that were true though, wouldn't Kakashi have had the MS long before when he first used it in part 2? Since Obito had it when he fought minato years earlier. Assuming that was Obito (pretty sure it was)

I believe Kakashi unlocked it himself. The first time he revealed it he did use a hand sign to make the transformation so I doubt Obito had something to do with it but I guess just about anything's possible now in Naruto. Even TenTen getting a doujutsu lol.

He just woke up one day and had his MS awakened. lol but seriously I think he's always had it. That moment from when Obito almost died I believe is when he unlocked his MS and so did Kakashi.
