Poor taijutsu?? As you said we clearly aren't reading the same manga. Jiraya might not be better than Kakashi at taijutsu, but there is nothing poor about it at all. He's very fast and strong and extremely resilient even without Sage Mode.

The databook (Which only counts base from) is a good example that what you're saying is bullshit:

Kakashi:
Taijutsu: 4,5
Speed: 4,5
Strength: 3,5

Jiraya:
Taijutsu: 4,5
Speed: 4,5
Strength: 4,5

And what the hell are you talking about with Kakashi enhancing his taijutsu with Raiton?? Ay does that, Kakashi doesn't.

And if you're talking about 1 of his Chidori or Lightning Cutter versions, those things have nothing to do with taijutsu.
Else we might as well count Rasengan and Jirayas needle hair jutsus and if we did that Jiraya would be waay superior.

Bro I agree kakashi is good at taijutsu but obito uses taijutsu in conjunction with kamui. Its safe to say that he hasnt had a regular taijutsu battle since he was 14.

You can't deny a characters powers just because you haven't seen them used. He was a SIDE character for christ sake, if Kishimoto wants Jiraiya to have good taijutsu (which he obviously would as an elite ninja) he puts it in the databook and boom- suddenly he has good taijutsu, it's how it works like it or not. It would detract from a story like this to write an excuse for Jiraiya to have to use taijutsu some situation because it's not needed, general strong ninja skills are heavily implied from hype. The guy had literally 2 fights in the entire series before he died.

Theoretically Kakashi should be able to use the Mist, too, since it is not a KKG.

Furthermore I don't think her acid mist obstructs vision but feel free to correct me on that.

It would be beyond foolish to use something that hurts him just as much as the opponent. Him using mist equals retarded on any one that is remotely above average.

That Lightning enchaing thing is called Raikiri and has nothing to do with Taijutsu. It's as ninjutsu as it gets. As I said if you count that Jiraya has Rasengan and Needle Hair Jutsu. Counting those he's above Kakashi in taijutsu for sure.

The fact that he got hit by Dynamic Entry shows nothing about his reaction for 2 reasons:

1. Guy is fast even in base and he took Jiraya by surprise.

2. You really think Kishi was being serious when made that?? It was only intended as a joke. Just like how Sakura always hits Naruto besides the fact that he could probably dodge her punch or block it.

If anything this feat is in Jirayas favor, he took a direct hit to the face and his only reaction was this:

But on a serious note, while Jirayas taijutsu feats are very few that doesn't make him bad at it. And since there aren't really any examples of him actually showing poor taijutsu (The scans you posted in the other comment were all from a time where Jiraya was drugged. It's safe to assume that Jiraya ordinarily would at least have done a lot better than that).

And since he has so few feats I can't see any reason not to trust in the almighty databooks wisdom!! Afterall they are authored by Kishi himself and therefore canon. Ofc the manga itself is more trustworthy, but it's safe to assume that the stats in the databook are at least very close to the truth (At the time it was made ofc).

Edit: Kakashi taking down Obito in the Kamui dimension isn't really much of a taijutsu feat. After all Obito has gotten used to depending on Kamui even when simply fighting with taijutsu. Without it he's probably not especially good at taijutsu.

Hashirama dna doesn't mean that you dont get tired yamato body was more compatible with hashirama dna and he has shown sign even hashirama has shown to get tired and obito.
