Just thinking could kakashi combine the celestian gate with the sharingan to boost his battle power

Pointless since his eyes abilities are already maxed. 3 tomoe with more chakra or less chakra isn't going to change. And Kamui is kamui with more or less chakra. I agree with bloodtrain, the strain on his body and his eye would be too much and nothing good would be gained by that.

At least I'm thinking you're refering to him unlock the gate and redirecting that excess chakra to his eye. Because, normally, when you unlock the gate the source of chakra boosts one's physicall atributes (speed and strenght). And remenber that without the gates, the flow of chakra is almost impossible to control to perform jutsu and techniques that require controll. That's why the gates are there. To ensure controllable power without harm to the user. Releasing them and using them to augment an already out of control eye technique would be stupid.
