Kakashi, Rin, Obito

O.K. Question: "When exactly did Kakashi kill Rin?" In Ep 288 It shows Guys flash back and he's on the squad with Kakashi and Rin. The only thing that gets me is that Kakashi is already wearing his jonin jacket as well as guy and rin..in the manga where it shows Kakashi striking Rin with Chidori, they're wearing what looks to me like their normal clothes before they became Jonin I guess. ANYWAYS I'm confused who else is, or can anyone else figure that out?
