You couldn't be any more wrong, sir.
Now as far as the whole copy ninja title go, you've got that. Indeed w/o Obito's sharingan eye Kakashi wouldn't be able to go around copying ninjutsu, and deciphering genjutsu almost effortlessly like he does. But it is b/c of Obito that Kakashi even lost an eye. Say that Kakashi never went back to help Obito save Rin and continued on with the mission, Obito would have died being that that rock ninja was already behind him and seconds away from sealing his fate. Reguardless sharingan or not Kakashi would have grown strong even w/o Obito's sharingan if not stronger. Sure he wouldn't be able to use use chidori but Kakashi was a prodigy child born with exceptional skills and intelligence there's no doubt in my mind at all that he wouldn't still rise to the top and earn a title of his own. He was pretty much following in his fathers steps in terms of intel, skills, and achievements so he was/is defintely not a fodder shinobi. Kakashi's skills is of the highest class and is incredibly capable of going toe to toe with almost any shinobi giving them a fair fight. And besides, you miss the reasoning of his title. He wasn't just given a sharingan and immediately feared and known, he trained hard and developed his sharingan almost completely and EARNED the title Copy Ninja Kakashi or Kakashi of the Sharingan. With or w/o Obito's eye he'd still be a force to be reckoned with.
