mei hasnt showed enough abilities to be put in a fight with kakashi yet. both are good at ninjutsu but mei hasnt showed anything else, kakashi has . so you cant jus say mei without a good reason

Kakashi, Mei would be a challenge though. Mei and Kakashi should be on the same level basically of Kakashi greater. Kakashi would be a same level Kage.

-Ninjutsu wise they are equal, Mei has 2 KGs while Kakashi has 1000 jutsu. Seems fair
-Taijutsu, Kakashi wins b/c we know nothing about Mei's skill
-Genjutsu, Kakashi isn't great at it but he is most likely better than her
-Kenjutsu, Kakashi was shown using Zabuza's sword with ease
