It really starts annoy me that people keep crying plot holes, because Kakshi hasn't gone blind yet... I can understand if you think he has used it way too much in the war, but that has nothing to do with blindness.

I will make this as short as possible. Here we see the scene after Sasuke went blind:

You must be registered for see images

Obito clearly says that it is because, he has used Susano way too much.

This alone is enough evidence to say that Susano has a much worse impact on the sharingan, thus leading to blindness U_U

Now I shouldn't actually need to argue more for it, so if this is enough for you, feel free to stop reading. Anyway, consider Sasukes use of Amaterasu. It is safe to say he has perfected the use of Amaterasu, and that he has used it a lot more than Kakashi has used Kamui. But this isn't the main reason for him going blind so soon. It's susano as stated above. So Kakashi should still be able to use Kamui a lot more...

A good way to argue for this, is quite simple. He only uses Amaterasu with one eye. So overall it would be safe to even assume that it has no, or very little impact on his overall vision - whatsoever. The reason I say this, is that obviously both of Sasukes eyes were going blind due to the use of Susano. Here is a few of the sentences about Susano from the 3rd databook:

Susanoo
Uchiha Itachi
Ninjutsu
N/A
The two doujutsu: "Amaterasu" and its ability to show "Things of substance and light", and "Tsukiyomi" and its ability to show "Things of without substance and darkness" are only usable when the user is able to use Mangekyou Sharingan, or heaven's eyes, eyes that can see the origin of why everything is as the way it is.

It clearly says that you need both dojutsu to use Susano. Anyway this isn't what I want to discuss. Susanoo takes even more power than either of the 2 dojutsu. Perhaps they lead to blindness as well, but a lot slower. Also if you only get blind on one eye there is no where in the manga that it states that the user cannot use dojutsu with the "blind" eye. It's still not like Izanagi, it doesn't seal the eye away. So being blind on eye wouldn't really stop Kakashi from using Kamui...

But as I said, he shouldn't even be half way to blindness yet, besides Kakashi is good at chakra distribution, as well as chakra control. It's safe to say that the better, you are at this, it will also affect the eye. Since you concentrate a lot of chakra to the eye, which is probably what eventually leads to blindness. So I'd say he is nowhere near a state of blindness. Same goes for Obito.. U_U

Kakashi maybe. But Obito's been using it for over 12 years, maybe more.

Obito possesses the power of Sage, which can't be compared. Kakashi have low chakra levels and should not be able to use kamui 6 times; which is plot

Wasn't EMS attained by transplanting eyes? Like How Madara had his brother Izuna's eyes transplanted to him becauuse he was going blind and when the transplant was finished ta da! EMS. And since Kakashi got an eye transplant wouldn't that mean his sharingan is eternal so he can't go blind in it. And as for Obito he has a whole room full of uchiha eyees which he's been transplanting into himself to dea lwith certain situations like when he fought that one paper chick (sorry forgot her name) from Akatsuki. She did that gigantic paperbomb waterfall that was going too explode for 10 minutes i think and Obito only escaped because before hand he swiitched one of his eyes.

Surely for Obito it may be different, but he also had his MS for 16+ years.

Perhaps, but it wouldn't make him go blind. Besides there is this thing that Naruto has. The guts to never give up. These guts are now affecting Kakashi, so he can somewhat keeps going. But I agree. The man has been in war for over 24 hours, and he has already seen countless of "friends" die in this war as well. He should be somewhat over his limit regarding chakra and exhaustion..

Well I've also been seeing this a lot. People thinking Sasuke just had to transplant Itachis eyes. But that would make no sense at all. Then why didn't Madara just give his eyes to Izuna? So they swapped. You obviously have to transplant the eye into another - somehow..

This speculation is so incredibly dumb, please pardon my French, but even I am amazed at this level of foolishness.

Sigh.....why hasn't anyone even considered the possibility that the rules of the Sharingan only apply to their true weilders aka the Uchiha?

It is frikking obvious is it not? Mangekyou Sharingan only makes Uchihas blind. To non Uchihas with transplanted eyes, it consumes an incredible amount of chakra and causes bodily fatigue.

That is also the same reason why non Uchihas with the Sharingan can never turn off their eye, and so it keeps consuming chakra as long as it sees, so they have to cover it up when they aren't using it.

It's obvious people! Sheesh...

A very good thread, indeed. While I don't think it's a proof and the only possible explanation, I find it very likely to be true. Definitely deserves a + rep.

You seem to be forgetting the conversation kakashi/itachi at the beggining of shippuden, kakashi asks itachi if his vision has been affected lately and itachi was suprised. That means that the eye kakashi has is losing its vision slowly aswell.

The explanation you give for why they cannot turn it off is obvious, yeah.. But that has nothing to do with losing eye sight in it. Even Kakashi can go from 3 tomoe to MS, this alone is prove enough to say this has nothing to do with it. Since a normal uchiha wont lose eye sight from using 3 tomoe. "Sheesh"

This close to Obito the eye may be using Obito's chakra it is Obito's original left eye. Kishi may end up explaining it as the battle goes on.
