thats true... they were uber confident. but they know each of pein's ability and can counter accordingly, shame they didn't show counters. kakashi and guy are totally different in fighting but equally gifted.

I wouldn't say massacre, i belive pain would put up a challenging fight for the reasons pensilol above has stated.

I would say they stood a chance. Pain biggest threat is Deva path. Which has a minimum of a 5 second wait period. Gai with paths could close the distance require to strike him down

Lol this is such a troll thread. Im going t say it hopefully only once Pain would beat Kakashi and Guy with little trouble. You say they have counters for all the jutsus? Uhh last time I checked unless your the nine tails then you can't counter shinra tensei and they dont have the power to break Chibaku tensei. They were just confident because they now knew of the abilities and also had the 2 strongest Tailed beast on their team. In my opinion all 4 of them could not take on Pain. We've already seen what Bee and Naruto can do against him and that is get owned so Guy and Kakashi would not make that much of a difference to beat him.

They have a strategy to counter the paths with the help of naruto and bee. Alone, there is no way they can win against all 6.
