And the rasengan doesn't need any handsigns, so how would he create Chidori, a justu that requires handsigns, from failing on a jutsu that had no handsigns, the Rasengan???

. chidori is not at all related to rasengan. kakashi did not develope id while trying to add lightning to rasengan.

edit: i understand what you mean now, kakashi was unable to master it like minato so instead of changing the chakra shape, he just learned to change the nature instead. rasengan did inspire it, but in the end they arent really similar

I talking realistically, i still surprised how strong obito is and how weak kakashi (he is strong but the way he developed he should of been stronger) and it clearly stated by kakashi that he created chidori form adding his lightning element to rasengan. Go back and read the manga when naruto learns rasenshurike.

Kakashi had enough chakra to use Chidori and destroy the boulder as shown when he used it against the Hidden Stone ninja, however, he would be almost out of chakra. Obito said to protect Rin, if Kakashi used the last of his chakra to save Obito, Kakashi wouldn't have the chakra to kill the Hidden Stone ninja.

Kakashi didn't know Rasengan at the time.

kakashi knew chidori and rasengan he could of blasted the rock away then rin could of used medical ninjutsu the stabilize him until they get back.

I know where you're getting at, but i think even if Kakashi used chidori at that time obito would have been dead either way if you crush those rocks he still has loads of pressure on him and plus rin and kakashi had to get away fast so even if he did manage to get the first boulder away you saw like 30 more falling on obito so i dont think he would have done it.

shut up its clearly stated that is were the chidori came from no arguments, it was said when sasuke learned it and when naruto was training with kakash

he could of he was able to use chidori 2 more times he would of broke the rocks then killed the ninja remember when the 20 enemys came he used chidori again but didnt make a difference because minato came anyway
