I constate the fact, i'm not speculating like you by jumping into biased conclusion, the facts before Choji clan came was :

-Ashura paralyzed and unaware of Kakashi's location
-Tendou unable to us ST and unaware of real Kakashi's location
-Kakashi raikiri on hand who could com from underground anywhere with surprise attack.
-and still have kamui to warp them if needed.

This is called awesome strategy and far to worse like you're trying to say.

-Wasted Kakashi's plan and now need rethink a new plan that will cost chakra
-Was unable to kill Asura path
-All what Choji's clan did is to throws kunais and using chain to win time
-Kakashi even had to use himself to tank an other ST and despite it CHoji and his dad's attack -was too slow and here Ashura is back and an other ST on Kakashi because they were too slow
-Instead of keep calm, Choji make himself noticed and again Kakashi had to use kamui to sacrify himself.

kakashi tried to use raikiri on deva at the start of the fight and kakashi looked into his eyes and shitted on himself and deva weaved the raikiri...did u forget that

Nobody had knowledge of ST, Kakashi did well to put a doton wall and intentionally get a stab to block him and kill him with raikiri.It's the black metal things that disturbed his chakra reread the manga.

The point was that raikiri Yes direct attack won't work and he was unaware of the 5s things about ST.But later Tendou was unable to use ST for 5s and unaware of Kakashi's location who was going to raikiri him with surprise attack.
