CREDIT TO BLINKST for this VIZ translation:
Naruto: "Are you an alien or something?
I mean, you seem super-dignified, but..."

Hagoromo: 'Uh, that's a bit much, doncha think?
An alien? Seriously? Aha ha!
Well, maybe that ain't too far off... So anyway..."

Honestly I think you answered your own question when you posted the part about Kaguya being from the story about the child in the bamboo forest. Now obviously Kishi is Japanese, and draws a lot from Japanese mythology and stories, among other things, so the logical conclusion is that he got the name Kaguya from exactly the same story you are talking about, and made the jokes about her being an alien and stuff in Naruto because of that story also. We aren't Japanese(well maybe you could be but I mean us in the USA), so that part of the dialogue and the real story of kaguya mean nothing to us, so we think to much into it. But I'm pretty sure after reading about the actual myth that he just threw that in there as a reference to that, as a joke, or whatever.

In the VIZ scan, Hagoromo says:
"That may not be too far off" in regards to an alien relation.

I know what the Viz scan says, it still doesn't matter though what he said, it could possibly be put in there as a joke/reference to that bamboo story. Honestly, do you really think Kishi is going to introduce actual aliens to the narutoverse now? He's definitely not going to do that, it most likely is just a reference/homage/whatever to that story.

Yeah maybe it is homage, but it could equally as well be for aliens.
Kishi has used similarities from mythology for powers before as well like with the 8 Gates
(or soon to be: )

My friend that is irrelevant. You fail to realize this is a universe where people with emotional problems have practically super-powers where they can become a the embodiment of a huge guy with a sword and control elements. These people also have computers, TVs, and even sattelites: ( )
Aliens really don't make this all that absurd. U_U

Please no alot of people were saying she was an alien as soon as the Sage mentioned her.

She came from the Moon. Her name is Kaguya.

Kishi is giving obvious hints . Hagomoro admits his an alien from the manga.

Hagomoro said " It make sense" . So its obvious Kaguya and Hagomoro is an alien and not from earth.

Kaguya is pretty much off from this world, reproduced Hagoromo and Hamura to rule the ninja world. For Kaguya to come here is just irrelevant...
