I'm going to try to make this thread as different as possible because I know there were others like this.
So in the last chapter (670) the Hagoromo said he had a brother, meaning Kaguya had two sons, not one.
I'm confused at the inconsistency of knowledge. I remember some claiming that Madara may not have relayed all the correct information, for several reasons including : 1) He never read the tablet with the Rinnegan 2) He's lying to deceive Sasuke or someone else 3) He simply doesn't know everything. But imagine the surprise I felt, TWO sons? (2Chainz voice) In chapter 646, it was explicitly stated that there was only one son and it Kaguya's story was told in a way that seems to erase the brother fro history.
Then again, this information is coming from Madara, not exactly the most credible source. But this twist didn't shock me in a good way, it kinda irritated me because of the inconsistency in the plot. While I did like the fact that we actually got some names on Hagoromo's sons(Ashura and Indra), I can't ignore the fact that there was so little emphasis on the sage's brother.
On another note, the existence of a second son does put things into perspective as far as lineage of clans. What do I mean by this?
Remember when some type of blood relation was established between the Senju and the Uzumaki? I hate stating things without evidence so here:
Distant relatives? 2nd Cousins Perhaps? While I can't find any explicit evidence that says they're like "cousins" or "2nd cousins" lets just consider it for a moment.
If Indra and Ashura = Brothers then, Indra's offspring and Ashura's offspring = 1st cousins.
Now let's take it a step back.
If Hagoromo and (Kaguya's other son) = brothers, then Indra and Ashura and Kaguya's other son's children = 1st cousins.
Here's the big part bear with me.
If Ashura and Kaguya's other son's children = 1st cousins, then Ashura's children (Senju) and Kaguya's other son's children's children = 2nd cousins or distant relatives.
Thus, I conclude, the probability, that the other son's children's children became the Uzumaki.
Tell me what you guys think.
