Kaguya can be 2 things.

- An alien who came to earth and ate the fruit granting her so much power that she was worshipped as a godess. And then using that power wants to convert humans into a zetsu army to fight her kind or other aliens.

- A human that gained power and wants to use that power to fight other beings( hence the need for the army)

Kishimoto isn't exactly breaking new ground, here.

I am expecting the plot to play out a bit more like Tenchi Muyo - sealed demon guarded by an ancient, powerful lineage with lost knowledge - a conflict arising over a princess who fell in love with a 'lesser' planet and wished to remain.

But, there again, I write fan-fiction.
