Actually when he can't kill kabuto it means he can't use amaterasu, Btw. Susano with Totuska might not be good cuz it needs to pierce kabuto's body inorder to seal him. both nagato and oro. can't really move also if the totuska blade was fast why didn't anyone says it's fast? well cuz it's not really fast..

Besides that, the second time was planned so that Kabuto would pick up the sword & complete Izanami.

Itachi was in no way stressed by the situation, and the same method of using another Sharingan could be used by:

1. forming a clone

2. his Sharingan crow.

3. Unknown methods (Itachi is among the most skilled and knowledgeable genjutsu masters in history.)

The entire time he was "trapped," he was talking to Kabuto rather than breaking free. No stress.

Not sure if you understand the situation that they were in was a stalemate. Itachi was an Edo which allowed him the use of his MS techs without a toll on his body and sasuke was to be captured. Not to mention kabuto was nerfed without his ET. Kabuto practically had counters to all of itachi's MS techs except for the asspull from kishi and the prep time that sasuke bought itachi. Not a kabuto fan btw.

Obviously, Kabuto with Edo Tensei is stronger, but read the thread title.

Having unlimited MS techniques is useless if you can't use them on the enemy, because you need him alive.

Or because he has knowledge on them and is closing his eyes.

Both Kabuto and Sasuke strongly implied that the Uchiha brothers could eradicate Kabuto if they wanted.

Kabuto kept reminding Itachi that he couldn't kill him if he wanted Edo Tensei undone.

Sasuke kept asking Itachi if he was sure they couldn't kill him.

Hell, Itachi was scolding Sasuke for not being careful enough by just ripping apart snake summons.

It's abundantly clear that Itachi (and by extension, Sasuke) were being very delicate, given the situation.
