Kabuto beat Itachi fair. Sasuke Ruined it.

Kabuto kills Edo Itachi like 5 times during this fight. This attack in particular where he used the cave to stab and trap Itachi would've been game over for him if Sasuke hadn't intervened.

Kabuto would've overwritten his mind and the fight would be over. People who say Itachi could've solo'd Kabuto w/o edos are fooling themselves.

This is just a piece of manga proof to put forward when people say Itachi could've easily defeated Kabuto if it weren't for him trying to protect Sasuke when it's clearly Sasuke saving him.

1. If Sasuke wasn't there, Itachi would have protected himself with Susano'o

2. He let himself be harmed so he could do Izanami

3. He wasn't trying to kill Kabuto

I do think Kabuto wins 1 on 1 however.

Itachi didn;t enter the fight to kill kabuto. Or to not die. He was an edo and took advantage of the situation in order to cast Izanami.

Yes but without the Sasuke help he would've been equally as doomed, Itachi's stamina isn't great- Kabuto could've easily worn him down eventually with the nature jutsus alone.

2. He let himself be harmed so he could do Izanami

This is true but this moment happens at the end of the fight, Kabuto gets Itachi about 5 times before that completely unrelated to the izanami before it's even mentioned.

3. He wasn't trying to kill Kabuto

Eh, doesn't really change this scenario.

I do think Kabuto wins 1 on 1 however.

It clearly says "he protected you and that made him slower" Itachi could solo Kabuto without Edos with intent to kill. Its very hard to make any judgement off of this fight though. Itachi wasnt trying to kill, was protecting Sasuke because he was still alive, Kabuto was going all out towards Itachi but not Sasuke. A 1v1 Itachi vs Kabuto with intent to kill would have gone alot different. In the long run I think Itachi > Kabuto though, would be an awesome fight.
