it doesn't take anything away from Asuma, it's a strength feat for him (especially considering Kisame's strength which is why I used Gai being overpowered as a reference). And the entire point of me bringing up those feats were to give Asuma some feats in this thread for saying he was lacking feats. Way harder to apply pressure once you are already at a halt. If he swung his hardest to begin with then it would be a different.

And yes who he swung at is relevant. Sometimes you go for speed over strength. Especially when you are underestimating your opponent (in this case Kurenai probably wouldn't have been able to handle that strength anyways, so he chose right).

Asuma blocked, he shredded Asuma, this is CQC, you're not going to go for the same deal every single time you draw your sword.

These aren't imaginary feats, they are all in the damn manga, Asuma stopped Kisame's one handed sword strike = strength feat.
Asuma dodging and countering Kisame's strikes = speed feat.

The extent of both we don't know but the point was it is pretty impressive, considering what was being said earlier. If he can hang with any version of Kisame with any amount of seriousness or not, he is a fighter around the likes of Neji and together with Kabuto, Neji soloing the two is gross underestimation of the character.
