Listening to the next instructions, Ryuu walked over to the nearest clone, before assuming the Gentle Fist stance. Looking carefully at the clone's Tenketsu, Ryuu consecutively performed two strikes to hit two tenketsu. He then did the same, causing four tenketsu to be afflicted. On his third go, he made four consecutive strikes to hit eight tenketsu. Lastly, Ryuu made eight consecutive strikes with his fingers, so that the total number of tenketsu affected were sixteen. The clone disappeared. With each set that Ryuu had been doing, he got faster. Well, that was the first one done.

Moving onto another clone, Ryuu repeated what he had done before with the other clone. But this time, instead of stopping at sixteen tenketsu, he went on to perform sixteen consecutive strikes to make thirty two affected tenketsu. But it didn't stop there. Ryuu made a strong step forward, before performing thirty two consecutive strikes on the clone, bringing it up to sixty four tenketsu. Again, the strikes got stronger and faster with each set, and also, with each strike, the clone would be pushed back. But now it disappeared.

Ryuu arrived before another clone and did what he had done to the second clone, but again, he went on to do more. After the consecutive thirty two strikes, he performed a consecutive sixty four strikes, which caused the clone to have 128 afflicted tenketsu.

Once that clone had disappeared, Ryuu once again assumed the Gentle fist stance before another clone. This time, he would be striking every single tenketsu on the clone. Taking a deep breath, he readied himself for the procedure. This time, it was not an exponentiation of two, so it would be a bit different. Ryuu started striking the clone, making sure to strike every single tenketsu. With each blow, he got stronger and faster, and by the end of it, the clone disappeared. If this was not a clone, it would have resulted in immediate death.

Priest was satisfied with his student. He had just started yet he had greatly improved. Priest would bring out 2 scrolls one is labelled Hakke and the second Kaiten. The student had done the requirement which is equivalent to the practical aspect of learning the technique, next is to see the extent which he could reach with the techniques. Each scrolls contains various techniques grouped under Kaiten and. Hakke and Priest would begin to explain how Kaiten really works, making the student see how far he could go compared to just closing tenketsus or expunging chakra from his entire tenketsus and spinning.

Chakra Points
Chakra points are nodes that controls the flow of the chakra network. When one is closed, then the chakra flow become disturbed and forced to follow an irregular path, that there are set of jyuken techniques that are deemed dangerous due to them having the ability to control how your chakra flows and function. By close even one of these tenketsus, they can makes sure chakra is shut from reaching a specific path of the body which could be dangerous and fatal, given the right circumstances. A very. Good example is first Jutsu. You are only closing one tenketsu which could on a normal day, seems negligible or underrated, but because the tenketsu affected is that of the heart, it shuts chakra from reaching the heart and this might lead to death if not treated. Its D-rank but could be one of the most deadly jyuken techniques.

How do you close tenketsus.
Hyugas are perfect chakra controllers, a reason why they are able to mold chakra into any form to suit their need, which specifically all bordering their special taijutsu. By focusing chakra, they are able to fine tune it to form around just the index and middle finger as a thin needle able to accurately inject the tiny and barely seen chakra nodes. Being able to see perfectly the chakra nodes, enable and helps in pinpointing their locate for accurate hits.
Having inject the chakra needle into the tenketsu, a tiny burst of chakra is released into the node like a sudden power surge to shut it down. That is why you can see the aftermath of a closed tenketsu as a burnt point on the victim's body.

Hakke
Hakke is a stance that allows you to map your target while pinpointing every tenketsus on their body. When the target is of range, you create the chakra pins around the index and middle fingers, then with a burst of speed and swift continuous strike you would begin to jab at the tenketsus, injecting a surge of chakra to shut them down. This would happen in a split that 16 strikes may be done in a seconds. The beauty of Hakke is that once the strike begins(the first jab hits), it can not be stopped by anything until you finish. This is because injecting the first chakra disturbs the target's chakra flow, making him unable to mold any kind of chakra until you are done. Also because they are being hit and their chakra drained, they won't have the physical strenght to interrupt until you are done. They are able to mold chakra again after the hit except for situations where the technique limits their chakra flow in one way or the other.

Now because you have performed them on my clone, I'll entertain questions on the various forms of Hakke and if any, some situations where you feel they can be used unfailingly and drawbacks

Kaiten
Termed as the ultimate defense, Kaiten makes it so that you are defended from every point and angle. Due to their advanced chakra control, the Hyugas are able to release chakra from their entire tenketsus all at once and then collect it above their skin. They went further and discovered that if they spin while the chakra is out, they are able to form it into a rotating sphere that can repel almost anything. The Kaiten is so powerful that it is nuetral to elemental chakra, compared to other chakra related jyuken techniques. This is due to the rotation being an advanced shape manipulation just like the resengan. With more chakra, a bigger and tougher sphere can be made which increases the level of defense one can attain.

I want you to ask questions, possible usage situations and drawbacks if any.

Ryuu listened carefully to the information his teacher provided him with, and then thought of any questions he had. Taking out his trustee notebook, he started to write in it.

There is one thing that interests me. And that is, since we have precise control over our chakra, can we free ourselves from a genjutsu by releasing this chakra? And is it only specific techniques that allow this? I find it very interesting how the opponent can not move once they are striked with a Hakke technique, and also how Kaiten is neutral to all the elements. This is very good, because it means it does not have an elemental disadvantage.

However, a disadvantage I see with our clan's fighting style is that you have to come into close range to attack, and in that time, the opponent can attack. It would be wise to use it after a distraction, by which one is allowed to get close to the opponent unhindered. They can probably be used best with clones as that would make it very had for the opponent to defend.

All in all, I think these sets of techniques are pretty awesome, as when they hit the opponent, they can have lethal effects; even just a D-ranked technique to the heart can cause death.

Turning to the next page, Ryuu drew a small bird of ink, which emerged from the paper and hovered next to him. He then ripped the page he had written in, and put it in the bird's beak, before it flew over and dropped it in Priest's hand.

Priest collects the parchment from the bird and read through it. Seeing through the student's solution to proximity problem and the probability of getting repelled by a ninjutsu. Using a clone is indeed okay but the student should realise that great speed can be used to overwhelm the target and creates a possibility of landing a hit before the opponent can react with a ninjutsu. Imaging an hyuga with leg weights.

Having analysed the student's response, Priest realised that its time to move to the next step. He would tell the student to focus his chakra once more but now instead of the precise needle-like chakra on the fingers, he would releasing it as a blast from his palm. Unlike the previous, is can be ranged seeing that one is able to send it towards a particular direction.

I want you to focus chakra into the tenketsus of your hand and through shape manipulation, release the chakra as a blast towards my clone standing mid-range away from you.

Which gentle fist techniques release one from genjutsu? Btw the leg weights on a Hyuga sounds pretty cool.

As Priest told him about the next exercise, Ryuu looked towards the clone that his teacher had indicated to him. Focusing his chakra to the tenketsu of his right hand, Ryuu released it from his hand. As he did so, he manipulated its shape into that of a simple blast, which went on to travel to the clone. As it hit the clone, the clone disappeared.

OOC:One blow body. We are yet to touch that.

Priest would command another clone to coat himself in a c-rank earth armor and tells Ryoma to try the technique again. This time, he needs to put more chakra and power to be able to overcome the armour.

As the clone disappeared, Priest instructed him to perform it again on a different clone, but stronger this time. Ryuu guessed that this was probably a higher ranking technique of the same core one. Facing a clone who covered itself with an earth armor, Ryuu again focused chakra to the tenketsu of his right hand. This time though, he gathered more chakra than he had for the previous technique. Stepping forward with his right knee in front and slightly bent, the Hyūga's eyes which had veins protruding around it focused on the clone. Thrusting his right arm forward, Ryuu then released the chakra out again in the shape of a blast. Reaching the clone, the armor on it disappeared.

Yet again, the student finished the task he was given. Next he would be using both hands to release the chakra blast. So now you would be splitting the chakra into both hands and following the same process as the one before, you will aim it and release the blast towards a target at a distance.

2 clones move swiftly towards the student.

This time, two clones came towards Ryuu. Gathering chakra again, he instead divided it between both of his hands instead of one. Releasing the chakra from the tenketsu of both palms as they faced forwards, one at each clone, Ryuu released a blast of chakra towards them both, causing the clones to disappear.

As the clones disappear, Priest would bring out a new scroll. A single scroll this time around. Within it are instructions used to master ranged Hakke techniques. Priest would sit on the floor and give the student the scroll. He is required to read through albeit he had performed most of the technique within, he still needs to study to have better inside to what he had been learning all along. The student is required to analyse, see if anything is wrong with any of the techniques and equally ask questions. Priest continues.

Like I said, Hakke is a stance where you channel your chakra into your hand(fingers and palms) to hit, closing or destroying chakra points or organs, however, the ones you previously analysed requires close and body contact albeit this is a modification and advancement. You don't need to be close to your target to use Hakke again. However, you won't be able to accurately hit the tenketsus, but internal organs can equally be affected.

Now I want you to ask questions and tell me possible s cenarios where you'll use them. What are the drawbacks?

(Hakke Kuushou) - 8 Trigrams Air Palm
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Close-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30(+5 if they hit an object)
Description: The user pushes chakra out of their palm that blows away their opponent.

(Hakke Shinten Kuushou) - 8 Trigrams 4 Heavenly empty
palm
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Close-MId
Damage Points: 40(+8 if opponent hits an object)
Description: A burst fire of empty palms that do more damage.

(Hakke Saikou Kaze) – Eight Trigrams Ultimate Wind
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will strike the enemy with Eight Trigrams Empty Palm three times, sending them crashing into a plateau of stone, before using it again to collapse the plateau onto the enemy.

(Hakke Kūshō) Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm
Type: Offensive
Rank: A-Rank
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage: 60
Description: This technique is similar in practice to Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven, but has a specific target rather than a general area. To perform it, the user precisely pinpoints the enemy's vital points with the Byakugan and releases a high-speed palm thrust. A "vacuum shell" compressed using the Gentle Fist is formed to attack the opponent's vitals from a distance, blowing them off their feet with tremendous force before they even notice they were hit.

(Hakke Kūhekishō) - Eight Trigrams Air Wall Palm
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description: A much stronger variant of the Eight Trigrams Empty Palm. It can be performed in 2 different ways: 2 gentle fist users attack alongside each other, using the normal Empty Palm technique, each sending a wave of chakra from their palms with great force, which combines into one huge single blunt burst of chakra or, by using both hands, the user is able to produce the same effect by using the Empty Palm technique twice, one for each hand at the same time. Similar to a large wind technique, this attack was strong enough to push back one of the arms of the Jubi and works by using the chakra to push the air outwards in a blunt wall-like blast.
Note: Can be used with a clone to make the second user.

Handing a scroll to him, Ryuu accepted it from his teacher, before opening it to read its contents. Before he started reading though, Priest explained to him the nature of these techniques, which were different from Hakke ones. Ryuu looked at his teacher and nodded, then read the contents. Taking out his notebook again, he started to write what he thought about them.

If I want to get into close range of the opponent to perform, let's say, a Hakke technique on them, and they retaliate by performing a close ranged technique on me before I perform the technique, that would not give me enough time to retaliate. However, I could use one of these to blast my opponent away from me, increasing the distance between us, as well as injure them at the same time. I would also use these techniques if I am not close to the opponent. I would strike them with one of these, then rush towards them to perform a close ranged gentle fist technique. The fourth technique in this list is quite interesting, as unlike the others of its type, it pinpoints certain vital points.

I guess a drawback of these techniques is that they can be countered easily enough with an elemental technique.

But I do have a question about that. Since these techniques use raw chakra, are they weak to all the elements? Also, can these techniques be used to strike the ground and move the user away from harm in an emergency? And last question, with the last technique on the list, can the user perform it by themselves, by using both the palms?

Ryuu handed the book over to his teacher so he could read all that he wrote.

Priest would read through what Ryuu had written and he'll start by answering the questions.

For the first question, Yes. Since Jyuken uses pure chakra, it is weak to elemental chakra and double weak to Dark release, however, there are some exceptions. All Kaiten are have no elemental weakness, since they are formed with advanced shaped manipulation just like the rasengan. There is another which is neutral, I'll let you know when you learn it.

Priest then ask the student to tell about everything he knows about the 8 internal gates. If he does not know, he is expect to go and make research and bring back a report about his findings, using suitable diagrams where necessary.

You didn’t answer my second and third questions. ;-;

Ryuu nodded as Priest answered his question, and he listened carefully to what he had to say next. The eight internal gates? Oh yes, being a mute child, Ryuu invested a lot of his time reading, and so he was very knowledgeable in the field. This was exciting; Ryuu was going to write lots on this topic. Taking his notebook back from his teacher, he began writing.

Well, collectively, the eight gates are tenketsu in the body, which if opened, greatly enhance the user’s speed and strength. However, they are very difficult to open and only an elite few can manage to do so. I myself do not have the capability of doing so. The function of the eight gates is that they act as limiters to the amount of chakra one can use at a specific time. If they are opened, the chakra is released from the gates, flooding the body with chakra. However, this is unnatural, and causes the body to be damaged. This is because the user’s own physical limits have been exceeded, and the extra chakra is being forced to come out.

Now, there are eight tenketsu in the body which do this, hence why it is called the eight inner gates. The first two gates are both located inside the brain, called the Gate of Opening, and Gate of Healing, respectively. The former allows the user to use 100% of their strength in the muscles, when normally one can only use 20%. The latter of the two also increases strength, but it also temporarily re-energises the body.

The next two gates are located in the spinal cord; the Gate of Life and the Gate of Pain. The former is located in the spinal cord, and when opened, it increases the blood flow of the user, which in turn makes their skin red. The next gate increases the user’s speed and power, but can also tear their muscle tissue.

Next we have the Gate of Limit, located by itself in the abdomen. Again, like the fourth gate, this one also increases speed and power. Located in the stomach, the Gate of View also increases the speed and power, but to such an extent that a vortex of water forms around the user if water is present nearby. The cause of this is from the copious amounts of energy released by opening the gate.

The Gate of Wonder is located below the stomach, and also increases speed and strength. This is a very dangerous gate to open up, evident by the large amounts of sweat evaporating from the user’s body, so much that it looks like a chakra covering. It places great damage upon the user’s muscles; ripping the fibres up. If touched, the user will be in extreme pain.

The final gate is called the Gate of Death. Located at the heart, it really lives up to its name, because once released, the user will die soon after. This one uses up all the energy of the user, and makes the heart pump at its maximum level. The result is that the user will have 100 times their normal power; temporarily of course. However, there is a red aura all around the user’s body, said to be the Steam of Blood. Once the user depletes all their chakra, their body crumbles into ash, taking away their lives. Truly a dangerous technique…

Looking at all that he had written, Ryuu again showed it to his teacher.

Oh sorry. Thought I answered those. No for the propulsion part and yes for the last part. Its even stated in the description.

Priest collect the nodes and read through after which he would then make a dummy, drawing and indicating the points at which the gates are located.

Since you are not the one opening your own gate, someone forcibly opening your gates while your body is not trained for it might be lethal. However we are not opening gates here, we are trying to close them the same way we close tenketsus, but this takes more effort. Imagine you fighting with someone who had opened the first 3 gates. With the gates open, their gates are clearly visible and you can close the gates if you have a faster reaction than them that is. If you are smart, you don't need to close all the open gates before you shut the entire gates network, by shutting the first gate, chakra entering the second and the third would be truncated but for the purpose of this jutsu, assaulting the gates would damage the gates themselves, making them unable to be opened.

Now I want you to practice hitting the dummy and with your knowledge of the gates' location, let's see how you go about closing them.

(Zessho Hachimon Hougeki) - 8 Gates Assault
Rank: A
Type: Attack
Range: Close
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: Attack on the 8 gates them self that stops flow of chakra completely for two turns after the opponent is hit by it.

Listening to Priest, Ryuu nodded his head, absorbing the knowledge in. So instead of closing Tenketsu, he would now be closing the Eight Inner Gates themselves. This was quite interesting. He wondered what his teacher meant by not having to close all the open gates though. He would ask after he performed the technique.

Staring at the dummy with his Byakugan, Ryuu stood in front of it, a bit crouched, then began his assault. His first movement involved his index and middle fingers of the right hand strike the first gate in the brain, whilst simultaneously, his index and middle fingers of the left hand striked the second gate in the brain. Moving down, the Hyūga then attacked the two gates in the spinal cord, using the same method as he had with the first two gates. Moving to the abdomen and stomach next, Ryuu also attacked these two gates, forcefully inserting his chakra into them to shut their chakra flow. Moving even lower, to below the stomach, Ryuu attacked the seventh gate, before moving up for the last one. Located at the heart, the boy jabbed his fingers there, inserting his chakra into it. And with that, he had closed off all the dummy's eight gates.

However, he did have some questions about this technique, so he started writing in his notebook again.

Sensei, what did you mean by not having to close all the open gates before shutting down the entire gates network? Does this mean that if for example, a few gates are open, then only the first gate needs to be closed for the rest to be denied their chakra flow? I mean, is it the first gate that determines whether the others will get their chakra flow?

Also, to use this technique, does the opponent have to have their gates open? Or can I perform it on closed gates, which will stop their flow of chakra? How will it affect ninja who can't open their gates anyways?

Priest listens to his student and begins to answer his question.

What is the meaning of "Opening the Gates"? This does not mean the gates are closed completely. Opening a gate means yoo are removing every limitation by opening it completely wide to allow uncontrolled saturation of chakra flow. This means the gates are on a normal day functioning as chakra junctions which can still be termed, through the minimal chakra that pass through them, as another tenketsu. That is why we train to remove the limitation, without training, the gates only acts like an advanced tenketsu that controls several sections of chakra network.

Now by really closing shut the gates, even when they are not open wide, you equally stop the chakra flow for each section of chakra network and stop chakra flow completely. Why its disadvantageous for one who had open the gates wide, say up to 3 gates. Because it require you open them one by one, gate 1 is a pre-requisite for gate two and it goes on like that, blocking off the first chakra blocks of the rest. However, this does not stop you from closing the rest of the gates so that the entire chakra network is equally restricted.

I hope I answered all your questions. If not, which is remaining?

Oh, so this technique could be used even on those who did not open their gates. Quite interesting. And the first gate had to be opened first; another interesting point. By this point, his questions were answered. To indicate to Priest that he understood everything, Ryuu gave him a thumbs up.

Seeing the thumbs up, Priest knows his student is good and ready for the next step and he would begin by causing several vines to wrap around the student. They won't hurt him but they are very tough to break with raw strength. So while the student is restrained, Priest teaches him how to get free.

Easy as pie. I believe you know kaiten. This is almost similar except you won't be spinning. Also instead of gently releasing the chakra from every point of your body, you release it violently so that it blasts away anything around you. Wanna give it a try? I won't release the vine though so you have no choice.

Whilst looking at Priest, Ryuu realised some vines were beginning to wrap around him. As they did so, he moved his arms forcefully around, trying to rip them away from him. But they didn't budge. At least Priest told him how to get out of them though. Hm, a rather interesting technique. Very useful for situations when he was bound up, or for attacking his enemies in close range without having to rotate.

Gathering chakra at all the tenketsu in his body, Ryuu caused it to burst out of all his chakra holes at the same moment, creating a burst of chakra around him. It was so strong that it broke away the vines around him, which he could not break with just his hands. Free, he let out a little smile at Priest.
