All right, there's something that i've felt for a long time and seeing as how this is probably the last week/s when there'd still be any point left to discuss this topic, i decided to make this thread. First of all i'd like to clarify, this is not a Tobi ID thread per se, i make no claims to know or even to discuss who the masked man is, i'll just point out some facts that i think are important enough to consider.
First of all, Tobi's mask is there for a reason. I think we can all agree on that, but what reason? Simple: to hide his identity. This may seem simple enough, but think about this for a second. Initially, the obvious purpose of the mask was to be able to pose as Madara to the world because if he took it off everyone would know he was a fraud. Because there was a giant statue of the real Madara at the Valley of the End which people could compare to know he was'nt who he claimed.
Let's move ahead to the present. Madara has been revealed to have died/revived as an Edo and the masked man's claim exposed as bogus. Now, with the truth out there, what possible purpose could be served by continuing to conceal his face?Everyone knows he is'nt Madara, the secrets out, might as well take the mask off now. Unless, of course our masked friend happens to be someone either Naruto, Kakashi, Bee or Guy knows by face. Then and only then does Tobi's insistence on keeping the mask on after being exposed really make any sense.
With the latest chapter showing Tobi's mask being shattered, it's only a matter of time before we all learn the truth but i feel this is a critical point to consider.
