He doesn't have a high level of Yin Energy that's needed to break it as only a Full Blood Uchiha with a very skilled Sharingan can even resist it.

No he didn't because a Fatigued Old Hiruzen who doesn't specialize in Yin Release managed to operate rather well while being trapped in the Genjutsu. Actually, the genjutsu itself couldn't inflict pain or paralysis which is a notable quality of proficient Yin Release users. The only one who doesn't possess that quality with his Genjutsu is Gengetsu, but his genjutsu negged hundreds of sensor types.

Basically, Hashirama's Yin Release was shown to be shit. Sharingan Genjutsu is implied to be effective against Kurenai who is a skilled Yin Release fighter. Tsukyomi is on a far different level and without a Sharingan, you cannot resist it. You'd have to break through it instantaneously which is not possible without the Sharingan or Rikudou's Yin Release.

Truth is no body knows about mangekyo sharingan at hashi's time as madara and his brother are the first to unlock it and we even don't know if either madara or his brother can use tsukuyomi at itachi's level and i am sure madara would have used against hashi if he had one given how hax the jutsu is only proves that they have tsukuyomi but not at itachi's level where he controls time and space but have a heightened genjutsu like all mangekyo sharingan users and sasuke was able to break it as itachi didn't have intention to go on full force against his brother and second sasuke is indra's reincarnation and his blood and chakra was thick and as powerful as madara and indra himself. don't know how hashirama can break out of it that takes full effect in a mere second against a jutsu that he don't have any idea about. we can't compare hashirama with any otsutsuki (not filler otsutsuki) even hashirama is fodder before them as they all descended from them and i strongly believe controlling time and space in genjutsu is completely unique to Itachi as how nobody was shown using it like him.

Were does it support that Hashirama can't break it?

He can't. As he lacks the Sharingan to "resist" it and the blood of a familial "to break it." Resisting it is pointless, as Itachi would have killed Kakashi if he wanted to.

The better question is whether he can be caught in it or not.
