His attire consists of a wide-brimmed black hat decorated with a large plume, and a long, open black coat, with red, flower-patterned sleeves and collar.
His large sword, which he keeps on his back at times when not in use, is black, long, oversized, and shaped like a claymore.
In addition, he wears white pants held up by a decorated belt and tucked inside overly large boots in comparison to his leg size.

Most of the time Mihawk is serious, very little surprises him, and he rarely smiles or laughs. Despite being skilled with a blade, he is very humble, and can recognize talent. He also has a sense of honor, which comes with being a swordsman.

Background Info.
History:
Juracule Mihawk was found abandoned in Kirigakure (霧隠れの里, Kirigakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden in the Mist"), thus he was an orphan when he was a baby. He was brought up in the Village during the reign of the 3rd Mizukage, whose name was unknown as that was never taught during that time. Juracle graduated from the academy at age 7,and became a chuunin at age 10.
After years of Training and completing missions, he was proficient at Kenjutsu, and discovered he had an affinity to this "art", and in turn was later promoted to Jounin.
Longing for a challenge, he became part of the Kirigakure ANBU Black Ops squad, where he joined the "hunter-nin" branch. His keen eyes and senses helped him to find and dispose some of the many Kirigakure Missing-nins, that plagued the world. This skill would ironically help with his later escape from the village many years later. When he left the ANBU, he set his sights on joining the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist (霧の忍刀七人衆, Kiri no Shinobigatana Nananin Shū), and thus trained over the next couple years.
After manys years of training, Juracule became disgusted at Kirigakure, as this was the time of the 4th Mizukage, and with him came the "Village of the Bloody Mist" (血霧の里, Chigiri no Sato). Juracule saw the cruel treatment of the students and how they were pitted against each other, in order to graduate, and also to join the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. Disheartened by the events he saw, he chose to defect and find his own way in the world. One night he saw his chance, using the mist defenses of the village against them he made his way into the cold, dark night. He stole a boat and left an "IOU" message on the wharf. But just as he thought he had made his escape, the "hunter-nins" of Kirigakure came after him and hounded on his collar for several days. Juracule sailed for Kumogakure, he sailed continuously, fate was on his side, as the wind blew him on his course for the three day sail.
Eventually he arrived in the Land Of Lightning, and immediately ditched the boat and hid in the mountains, hiding in a cave cold, starving, and exhausted, he decided to face his pursuers. The next day he set multiple traps (which played on the "hunter-nins" instincts and strategys) in a valley leaving distinct clues of his whereabouts, in order to bait them. On a stormy day he fought against his past comrades, the fight lasted only an hour and ended with Juracule standing as the victor, but wounded during the battle. He had no strength to climb the mountains, and knew it would be futile to try. Knowing this he just lay on the battlefield, surrounded by his fallen ex-comrades he pondered his life so far, and came to the realization that he had no regrets, and thus he closed his eyes for what he thought was the last time.
But this was not to be, as Juracle eventually awoke, in an old cottage. Which had multiple weapons hanging on the wall. He saw an old man, who was sitting by an open fire. Without looking at Juracule, the old man told him how he found him half dead in the middle of a battlefield, how he had tended to his wounds and how he had been comatose for a month. The old man told Juracule he would have to stay for at least three months to fully heal.
After the three months, Juracule decided to stay as he was honor bound to help the old man for four months as he had been tended to for that long. During this time he found out the history of the old man. He was a swordsman from a far away country, and had washed ashore near Kumogakure. He was saved by a woman who he eventually married, (this made Juracule ponder on the whereabouts of his wife and maybe children). The woman's father was a great blacksmith and had built all the weapons that adorned the cottage. The old man trained Juracule to the bone, in different types of weapon styles, and trained his body to withstand alot of punishment, to increase his speed and reflexes. At the end of the four months, the old man had fallen deathly ill and was on his deathbed. Before he died he told Juracule about what had happened to his wife and child. One day he had gone fishing with his wife and baby son. The fishing season was tough and there weren't many fish around the land of Lightning, so he decided to fish in the ocean that surrounded Kirigakure. One night a group of Kiri shinobi attacked their fishing boat, he fought them off but not after they had murdered his wife and taken his only son, back to their village. The old man told him, he had recieved a vision (a couple days before he had found Juracle) from his deceased wife saying a dying man would be laying in the middle of a battlefield in the mountains, she said if he were to save that man he would be reunited with his son. The old man had not wanted to tell Juracule because he was ashamed at how he was unable to protect his own family. But as he lay dying he was happy for the chance to spend some time with his lost son. Juracules father gave him a set of keys, which he said would unlock a secret entrance into the basement of the cottage. As he handed his son the keys, he went limp and passed away, reunited with his lost love once again.......
Juracule mourned and buried his father, and then found the secret entrance to the basement, within it stood a large Cabinet. Juracule paused then opened the cabinet revealing a weird set of clothing, an ornate red and black jacket, a pendant shaped in the form of a cross, a hat with a feather on the side, purple pants, and large boots that actually fitted him. Besides the clothing was a massive sword, it was almost the same height as him. It was shaped like claymore and was adourned with jewels. He donned the outfit and because of his training with his father, he found he could lift the huge sword easily. He stowed all the weapons hanging in the cottage within the basement and locked it.
Standing at his fathers grave one more time he set off for Kumogakure. Once he reached Kumo, he was arrested by the guards and brought before the Raikage: Mugiwara . Juracule came with intel on Kirigakure and was eventually allowed to stay in Kumo. He met powerful shinobi like Kirabi , Daemon , Gatsndshanks, Sonic, , Aizen , and Mugen-sama (if i'm forgetting anyone i'm sorry U_U), he was very impressed by the military might of Kumogakure.
Juracle has started learning jutsu from sensei's who come from Kumogakure and the other villages (as it is a time of peace), Juracule is working hard so that he may repay the kindness shown to him by Kumogakure.
