I don't really want to make this opening too long, so pretend this is where I'm training. :p

John? o_O Like the toilet? Or the name?

*I arrive on the scene in front of you, hanging above from the bench thingy*
'Ello, mate!
First, tell me why you want to learn water and how you plan to use it in battle!

Like the uhh... name? xD

But anyway, I want to primarily learn water because I'm in Kirigakure, which would make sense if I had some more water techniques under my belt. That, and there are a few characters I would like to turn into biographies which having a strong use of the water element would make much more sense. xD As for using them, I've always felt that water should be more used as a supplementary element rather than an offensive. Using moves such as the Hidden Mist or Rain Tiger at Will to either aide yourself or alleviate your opponent of something to give yourself an edge, or even using them as a large scale distraction like the Water Dragon technique.

As for the name of the thread, I usually name my training threads something weird like a name of a cliche anime episode, or just something weird. I was going to call my next training john regardless of who it was anyway. xD

o_o' LOL.
And Rain Tiger at Will is my favorite jutsu, by the way. ^_^ I'm a coward when it comes to RPing, so my style is extremely defensive.

Well done.
Now, proceed to sit down in a meditative form before the river. Hear, taste, feel the flow of the water...and think about how your own water chakra might flow.

Eh, each to their own. I use a lot of puppets, but I personally enjoy close range fighting, trying to get in close whenever I get the chance to. :p

But anyway...

Taking the instructions to heart, I hop off from the bench which I may or may not have created before hand, and walk over to the river. I start by leaning down in front of the river onto my right knee, just dipping the tips of my fingers from my right hand into it to get a feel for the water. It's the one element I haven't personally touched for a long time, so it would be wise of me to get a good grasp of it in the simplest of ways. As I feel the water, I rub my fingers together, rubbing in the water within my skin to get a better feel for it, as well as sort of drying it from my fingers, while finishing by rubbing them on my own chest, drying it completely. Completing the mundane take of getting a feel for the water, I take a seat, crossing my legs in front of the river within an arm's distance and get into a meditation position. My hands are in front of me, creating a pose similar to the one Shikamaru uses when he strategizes. I take in a deep breath, and exhale while gently closing my eyes which helps the imagination of the water.

I channel chakra within me to my ears, focusing on listening to the serene sounds of the river, making small ripples from the soft wind blowing throughout the land. I can begin to feel these small ripples, caressing my body as I imagine myself immersed within the river in front of myself. After a while, I open my eyes to be slightly blinded by the sun's rays from having myself peer into the darkness. I feel somewhat immersed with the water element now, so I move onto tasting the water as instructed by the sensei. At first I question the sensei's motive for wanting me to drink the water, but alas I go on with the plan for some odd reason. I release the threshold on my legs, removing them from the medtation position and move them under myself, folding them so that it would appear I'm sitting on them. I then take the movement of cupping my hands together, while reaching downwards into the river. Taking a small amount from the river, I bring my hands towards my mouth, and drink the water from the palms. Water does spill from myself being somewhat clumsy and falls onto my shirt, but these things can't be helped at times. I get a feel for the water in my mouth, only for my tastebuds to react poorly. Not publicly shown to the sensei, I make a slight look of disgust on my own face, just thinking what's in the water. In the distance a houseboat can be seen, most likely a family with small kids who don't know better than to use the bathroom for these moments. Maybe that's what I'm drinking right now, but we'll never know as I'm sure as hell not daring enough to travel over there and ask them about their kids' habits. I swallow my pride, as well as the water along with it, vowing never to drink from a public river ever again. The look of disgust and anguish disappears from my face, while I take a stand, stretching my arms and legs, walking back over to the table where I was previously and awaiting more instructions for this training.

Sorry if I went a bit overboard. xD

If you go overboard, so will I. ^_^ I spend just as much on my posts as my students do. Also, haha, the tasting was more metaphorical, but nicely put.
---
After instructing Alternative to listen to the sounds of the Water chakra, he treaded over to the river before us. He sat down slowly, maintaining a somewhat meditative position, but reaching a hand into the Water as if to test it.
I saw him relax then, as I did also at a tree nearby, leaning against it quietly so that I would not disturb him in the process. Then, surprisingly, he leaned then, cupping the water gently into his hands, and before I could tell him to stop drinking the water, proceeded to take a sip of it.
A slightly disgusted look passed his face as I chuckled to myself, sighing that he took my words so literally as he stood up, his eyes searching the area for me. He made his way back to the bench, awaiting further instruction.
"Actually tasting the water wasn't necessary," I said, rather amused. "But well done. I hope you have an idea of how water chakra flows now. Unlike Lightning and Fire, which are more violent and unstable, Water is more smooth...fluid, if you may. By keeping such concepts in mind, you can easily allow water to flow from you and your chakra."
I motioned him over to the river once more as I sent chakra into my feet, a practiced move as I walked several feet into the middle of the river.
"Proceed to put your hand onto the river," I instructed. "And from what you have learned so far of the nature of Water, try and begin to manipulate it to your likings, such as creating a small splash or wave."

So you're going to spend 3 hours lazing over a post of mine, wondering how to respond to it? Haha xD. :p

-----

Akihiko chuckled to himself as I drank the riverborn water with the disgusted look on my face. He mentioned the properties of water with a tone of sincerity to him while I looked for his voice as I made my way back to the table from my meditation. I had this rather blank look on my face, just thinking to myself, I know this stuff already, I've had training in basic water techniques before. Akihiko paced his way to the bank of the river, asking me to come along with some sort of gesture. As he made his way onto the river, he had given me instructions as to what to do, I can only reply with the slightest bit of sarcasm in my tone, "I guess I could do this."

With that in mind, I bent down into the grass on my own right knee once more, dipping my hands into the water while small ripples emerge from my hand. I wisp the water around freely for a moment, creating more ripples. As I feel the water and start to get bored of what seems to be pointless exercise, I waiver my hand within the water more vividly, creating a much larger splash. This is starting to get irritating, something I thought to myself. As the anger within me grew, I got antsy, performed a few hand seals much to Akihiko's knowledge and channeled my chakra into the water. This water is manipulated by myself to create a tornado of water, slightly taller than the average person a mere couple of meters in front of the sensei, making sure not to cause any harm to him. With that done, the tornado subsides at my control, as I start to chuckle somewhat from the technique. "Kufufu, well you did ask me to manipulate the water in whatever way I liked."

(Suiton: Mizu No Tatsumaki) - Water Style: Water Tornado
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Descripton: The user will wave the Ram → Horse → Bird hand seals and utilize water to create a spinning water vortex around the ninja. The water acts both as a barrier and attack mechanism. The power of the vortex is enough to knock an opponent unconscious.
Note: Can only be performed if there is a water source near by.

An irritated looked passed Alternative's face as the water he was just fumbling with it earlier suddenly exploded in the massive wave before me.
Surprised, I nearly lost hold on the chakra that was keeping me afloat on the surface of the water. Staggering on the water, I nodded, assessing his previous knowledge of Water jutsu.
"My apologies," I offered. "I did not know that you have already acquired an affinity for Suiton. Let's step a little further away from the lake for now."
After stepping onto dry land, I formed the Tiger seal, creating a single Shadow Clone about mid range from Alternative.
"Now," I instructed, taking a few steps to assess the situation. "Begin by building up Suiton Chakra the exact same way as you did earlier. Then add pressure behind it and form it into a shape of a shark when you release it from your mouth.
Remember to aim this jutsu so that it strikes my clone's head so release the chakra on top of him and begin formulating there."

"You know, I told you about my training before we started...", I mentioned with a blank look on my face as Akihiko walked off the river and onto the dry land. Feet dripping wet from the jutsu ad well as the river, I follow him away from the river as I have been instructed to do so.
A clone is created to be used as a "training dummy" as I would consider it. I can only think to myself, Boy, am I gonna enjoy this. with the look of sadism in my eyes. As instructed, I begin the technique which may or may not baffle me, seeing as I don't know what it is yet. I remember the previous training I had versed in with water techniques, remembering the feel of water when building up my own chakra. The flow and serenity which water brings to me is the feeling I remember. I build the chakra directly to my lungs, converting it into a specific water to launch at the clone. I bring the water up to my mouth in an attempt to spit it at the clone's face as instructed. In a quick motion though, I build up pressure behind the water to give it a far stronger launch from my body to make the water hurt, even if that's not how I see water jutsu to be used. Then from launching it, I change the shape of the jutsu to resemble that of a basic shark, about to take a large bite from it's prey. After launching the shark projectile at the clone, if successful it should reach it's head, making a rather large splash at the target from the force of the technique.

----

Not exactly sure what you meant by the last part, releasing the chakra at the clone or something idk.

My apologies, I suppose I worded it weirdly. O_O
---
"The jutsu you just utilized was actually one of Kisame's," I said, somewhat sheepishly. "However, this jutsu does not come from your mouth, but instead, from the water that you release into the air. In that case, create the shark once again like you did earlier, but form it on TOP of my clone's head so that the sharp teeth and its gaping mouth falls directly onto his head.
It's more of an attack that comes from the top, rather than at chest level."

"There there, it's alright.", I said with a compassionate heart. "I understand you're overwhelmed with students. However, hehehehe... that's not going to help with my sadistic tendencies." My face turned into a slightly evil grin saying this. I understood Akihiko's predicament, but sadistic pleasures don't necessarily like to wait.
I prepared for the jutsu again, this time doing it right instead of a different way as being told. I build up water chakra within myself, building it up for the technique seeing as it uses a different method than most techniques. I build the chakra up, and release it into the air mixing it within the water's molecules within the thin air around us. In a haste, I picture a shark, biting the top of the clone's head or proceeding to do so, and gather my water chakra previously released throughout the air to take the form of a shark quite quickly. Using my prowess in chakra I manipulate the shape and transgress it to a more physical state of water. The water resembles a glowing shark, representing my chakra, holding itself together while gnawing on the top of the clone's body about to swallow it whole.

I nod in approval, fully comprehending the rather interesting personality of my student, however, being the phlegmatic man I was, I didn't bother questioning my curiosity.
"Excellent job," I said. "Notice the shape of the shark - if you were to give it an actual density so that each of its teeth were actually sharp, then the person struck by such a jutsu would definitely be in a bad shape. If you form it higher upon your enemy, it would be a more deadly impact pertaining to the law of gravity (objects fall at 9.8 meters per second without air resistance), and the bigger the mass (force = mass x acceleration), the longer it would take to form, but it would do more damage."
I glanced around, making sure we were upon dry grounds before moving on to the next jutsu:
"Now, proceed to form these handseals in order, Tiger → Dog → Monkey → Snake → Boar → Tiger, and then concentrate your water chakra into the earth. Proceed to have it rise in earth in small balls, and then aim these very balls at my clone, surrounding him with it as they interlace with one another and drowning him in the process."

I start to nod off at the lengthy explanation about whether adding density, yawning in the process. I can tell when you're finished though, so I make it look like I was alert the entire time paying attention to every word you said.
Aftet the detailed explanation on the density of water, I'd assume we'd move to another place, seeing as this place we're currently at would be drenched from the shark technique, so we move to a dryer location. Upon arriving, another lenghty explanation can be heard from you. Here we go again -_-, I think to myself as it continues, but this seems to be more oriented at a technique, so I pay more attention than I did previously.

I begin in silence, closing my eyes thinking of what the technique consists of: small droplets, sized like tennis balls forming from underneath the earth to give it earthen properties I would imagine, and being launched at the target which in this case would be your clone, joining together to drown them in a mass of water. I focus on channeling my water chakra within the ground while thinking of how to perform the jutsu methodically, and perform the hand seals needed for the technique, finishing with the Tiger seal. (detailed explanation on the exact movements made for the hand seals) I perform some sort of shouting, to enhance my strength in lifting the water from the earthen soils, and hopefully make them rise successfully. I then control these balls calmly, holding them all around myself with absolute control, and send them at an incredible pace towards your clone. As they approach the clone, I slow the balls down gaining control so they don't just splash everywhere, and focus now on merging the water together naturally. I work towards the facial area seeing as that's where the clone's respiratory systems' entrance lies just to begin the choking process, and eventually proceed to merging many more water droplets around the rest of his body, making the body immobile; unable to make any movements while the technique is active. This affect should hopefully subside any form of struggle as well as drown them in a small pool of water.

With a calculated gaze, I notice Alternative's interesting choice of aiming the water droplets, particularly targeting the area of where any normal being would need to continue living. The control was fluid, stable, and confident, and it easily occurred to me that he was one of the most talented students I have ever stumbled across.
"Excellent job," I said. "Now, let's discuss this jutsu a bit further. You obviously have excellent control over the properties of the water and with such a jutsu, you are able to do many things with the various combinations you can make.
You happened to use it rather offensively this time, what might be a way to utilize it defensively? Remember you can combine the balls in any way you wish to form anything."

The explanation once again rattled on, frivalous with compliments over the technique, but it makes me happy to hear them all. But then it comes to my turn for bringing up an answer for how these jutsu can be used defensively, or even as a supplement. I enter a small train of thought, rubbing my chin softly.
"Well, I suppose it could be used in conjunction with knocking someone down, and restraining their arms and legs, being unable to get up or retaliate." I mentioned while I finish stroking my chin. "Maybe pin someone up against a wall created from an earth jutsu and use it as a pseudo-torture device, maybe? I'd personally use it like that and while they're restrained, take a kunai and stab their left thigh, twisting it around to cause agonizing pain." I mentioned while a grin creeped onto my face. I had always loved the idea of torture, being able to just hurt people for no reason, giving them a slow and painful death rather than ending them in an instance.

Viva la bloody mist.

You didn't get it when I asked you about it? I mean, most people would recognize a conversation about pulling a Froggen with your Malzahar and then react to it. :p Also I'm secretly Bischu, dontchaknow? :3

People died at my hands a lot, however, I certainly took no joy out of it. It was simply part of my duties and I had long rid my emotions in case they were a liability. Why Alternative took such pleasure out of torture, I would never understand. (Though, I must admit, I would probably laugh in joy if I were to see certain people on NB grovel on dirt, begging for mercy for their pitiful desires...)
"That sounds very painful indeed," I replied in an impassive tone. "However, it could also be formed to create a wall for yourself...just in case of fire attacks..." Shrugging, I assumed that Alternative knew where I was going with my tangent as I motioned for him to join me on the lake. "I am sure you know how dirty it is, but it's all we have for now."
I pointed a hand at the surface of the water.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Jump in!
As you are in the water, I want you to focus upon the motion and pressure of the water (the deeper the water, the higher the pressure) and think about how you can control your chakra to let it propel your forward. Also, think of how you can use such aspects of the water to your advantage during a battle."

Ah, ah, I see. I must have had too many conversations about League to pin who I've spoken it too about. xD Want to go a game someday?
And oh, geez, Bischu. >.>'
And Froggen is pulling more Lee Sins these days. xd

Of course I would know where you were going with the tangent of using the technique for defense rather than torture. The technique itself was designed originally for defensive purposes, but using it in a more sadistic sense would be more perfect.
After seeing the finger pointing towards the pool I was drinking from before, insinuating I should just jump in, I can only make a really expressionless face at the motion you are suggesting I take. "Uhh... no. I will not jump in a rotten river with what tasted like a child's piss drifting along the seabed." The thought of carelessly jumping in infuriated me, as I was a man who believed in looking before I leapt, unlike the man who stood before me.

I took a few steps towards the river, making my chakra flow much more lax and physically trying to halt the flow so that I wouldn't be able to walk on the river. I take a deep breath, exhaling and walk slowly into the river. The cold touch on my skin and how it weighs down my clothes should be something I am used to, but this felt different, like it were a child's piss rubbing up on my skin. Anyway, for the sake of training, I walked deeper into the river. As I got so far out so the water level reached my waist, I knelt into the river dipping my whole body into it, performing a subtle breaststroke to get out into deeper waters. When I felt ready, I converge my chakra within the water, preparing myself for the technique by utilizing the water. I take a deep breath, making sure to hold my nose as I dip my head into the water, holding myself underwater with the chakra I mixed in with the water. I think of how I can propel myself using nothing but the water and the chakra, but nothing comes to me at the time. After a little thought I can think of one way to perform the technique successfully, by releasing my chakra through the tenketsu located around my backside to push myself forward. Of course, aide may be needed by physical activity, but this should be enough for the time being to recreate the jutsu. I pressurise the chakra within myself for a few seconds, making sure to hold my breath under the wretched waters and release the tension on my tenketsu, which should be able to propel me forward away from you and the mainland. I come up above the water's level, taking deep breaths from having to hold it after so long, and just seeing how far I can see away from you and the mainland.

I'm sure he would want me to come back, so I begin a standard freestyle swim back to the mainland while thinking of such possible ways of using this technique to overcome my enemies. Of course, one requirement would be the usage of a water source, and a large one at that. It could be used for escape, hastily creeping onto someone as a surprise attack, or even using it as a water version of the Double Suicide Decapitation technique. I'll make sure to let him know when I get back to the mainland.

--

I could go for a few games maybe, but I'm kinda really bad at it, like 1000 elo or something. And I heard about the Froggen playing Lee Sin mid, didn't really see much of it though. xD

A somewhat disgusted look passed Alternative's face as he eased gently into the water, quite hesitant of the water at first, and I took a few steps back as to not disturb him.
Wading gently into the water like a child who had first began to learn how to swim, he eventually reached the deep end of the river, where he finally allowed himself to be completely submerged within.
His head disappeared from the top of the water as he swam further and further away from me, a figure that was nothing but a dot in the distance as he popped up from the surface of the water again.
A mere glance towards my direction told him where I was and after a brief swim, he came out of the water, his clothes and hair soaking wet as he emphasized in a few short sentences his experience of the water.
"Hm, good response," I responded. I walked over to the bench I had arrived at, tossing him a towel from that I had prepared beforehand, as I had foresaw such situations. "This jutsu also masks your presence whilst in the water, especially the deeper you dive. However, the pressure of the water will increase the further you go, so you must always be careful how deep you dive."
After assuring that Alternative was dry enough and back to his rather sadistic self, I gave him the instructions on the next technique. "This was used by Yamato in a Shippuden episode. The main purpose of this jutsu is to disperse smoke and also distract the opponent.
Now, proceed to lift your hand towards my clone. Focus your Suiton Chakra into it and then release it a short and sharp stream of water. Pressure is everything. Remember to aim."
Lazily raising my hand, I formed the Tiger seal, creating a clone about mid range from Alternative.
