Itachis stamina is a problem fighting Jiraiya. Whats the longest weve seen Itachi maintain susanoo non edo? Like 2 minutes? You honestly believe Jiraiya would have a hard time avoiding Itachis susanoo with all he has in his arsenal? I doubt it.

Jiraiyas summons easily give him SM prep time. While Itachi is busy wasting chakra dealing with the summons Jman is coming up with a strategy and gathering Sage chakra.

Once in SM Jman easily outclasses Itachi in taijutsu. Not only that but he has ma and pa on his shoulders. They can use ninjutsu, and they make genjutsu useless for Itachi, except maybe for tsuki. Oh, and they know a genjutsu Itachi has no counter for.

Jman in SM could probably dodge amaterasu. SM threat perception and reflexes are very good. Not only that but Itachi isnt nearly as good with ama as Sasuke is. Its not like he has the chakra to spam it.

This fight isnt nearly as one sided as Itachi fans believe. Jiraiya couldnt win this easily but he has a good shot.

Logically thought out its a hard call to make which is why theres an Itachi vs. Jiraiya thread like once a week lol.

IMO they are more or less equal. I only say Jiraiya takes it because he has much better stamina and Itachi himself said if they fought it would be a draw or he would lose.

you all are forgetting Jman is good with genjutsu too So why won't he be able to counter it? Well except If itachi uses tsukiyomi

Well I wouldn't say he's good with genjutsu he doesn't even use it himself. He has frog song with ma and pa, and he knows how regular genjutsu works and how to break out but it's not really his strong point. He's similar to Naruto in fighting style. Summons, clones, giant rasengans. He was never shown to use any genjutsu techs other than frog song though it's possible he could use basic genjutsu considering he knew some advanced ninjutsu and sealing techniques.

I don't really care for vs fights, but it's been established even back in pt1 that Itachi wins this. There's not any point in discussing it any longer. The only retort Jiraiya fanboys have is "Itachi coughs and dies". Yeah. He outlasted his healthy brother, stopped taking his meds, held back, etc. He also saves his best, most chakra-draining techs for last. The databook only compares base level. The only thing J-man beats Itachi in is raw strength and stamina. Itachi's fights are short due to the fact he dislikes conflict and prefers to avoid it when possible. His health's not going to fail him here. His battle style doesn't revolve around raw strength.

Itachi's techs usually take a few seconds to prepare, Jiraiya's take quite awhile. He had to hide while Frog Song was getting ready. Lol That doesn't help, especially when he has a variety of techs but most aren't ideal counters.

To top it off, Chiyo even stated that the reason the Akatsuki stayed away from Naruto wasn't because of Jiraiya at all, but simply because they felt no rush since they have to seal the beasts in order for a more smooth process (the statue started to fall apart when they weren't in order).

It's obvious who wins. The majority of the fandom knows and has accepted it. Itachi wins med-diff (if Itachi lets him go to SM, then high-diff), only blinded Jiraiya fans say otherwise.

The only retort is he coughs and dies? Did you even read my post? I gave much better reasons why this fight is very close than you gave for itachi's victory here. It does take time for jiraiya to prep sm but he isn't some fodder. He was able to prep for sm while fighting pain who had the rinnegan and a bunch of OP summons and you think he couldn't distract Itachi's for a few minutes?

That's laughable. Think some more and come back. This fight is closer than you think.
