Jiraya is the most overrated character

Sasuke is only faster than Jiraiya because of his shunsin speed, which is Ninjutsu .

Then again, same can be said about A. If we put aside space/times jutsus, Narutos characters are fast becuase of that technique. Its basic jutsu, known by every Genin, but it also the one that relies on the skill of the user the most.

You're clearly on something because Jiraiya is much more underrated than he is overrated. The most overrated characters are Itachi, Minato, and Sasuke.

Won't say he can beat current Pain, Sasuke, or Naruto. But an unhealthy Itachi? Certainly. Not overhyped in the slightest, most rate him as equal to Itachi, and Itachi isn't top 10 either.

How? when he intervend when Itachi was torturing saske. ITachi even said him and kisame could not beat jiraiya together. I think the sharingan is overrated. If the genjutsu was so flawless then how did hashirama fight madara and win?

when did it ever say we couldnt win with kisame and 2nd he didnt even have susanoo and madara dosent have tsukiyomi

j man is far more a better person in character over guys like itachi, danzo, oro, kisame,...

Probably next to Minato I'd say Jiraya is the most overrated. First I'd like to say I do acknowledge his powers and achievements as a Sannin and a teacher. But it seems people like to overhype his powers and abilities sometimes.

Seriously? xd Jiraya beating Pein. Jiraya had difficulty before sage mode just dealing with the Animal Paths. The environment also was made up of hiding places to allow him to enter sage mode.

If Pein has started with all 6 or just the DEVA PATH Jiraya would have not lasted 5 minutes.

They way I interpret this page was that if Jiraya knew our secret maybe he would have got his ass out of here and looked for the real Nagato.

People are taking this statement the completely wrong way. Kisame and Itachi knew nothing about Jirayas abilities. Kisame was just going off Jirayas hype as a Sannin. I cannot stress this enough.

Noted: Itachi already defeated Orochimaru, a Sannin when he was 13 and imo was ≥ to Jiraya.

Jiraya can in no way beat Itachi. Especially without sage mode. No naming for the fact Jiraya has nothing to counter OP Susanno, Amaterasu and Tsyukomi. Jiraya has no experience battling with a sharigan user especially on Itachi's level.

How will Jiraya even fight him with just staring at his feet. :sy:

Kisame well this battle can go either way. However I believe Kisame has the upperhand, but this is debatable.

One other silly thing I heard was that Jiraya can touch people and they turn to frogs. Not exactly. I won't even bother posting manga pages because it's such a simple thing to understand. Jiraya had to transfer sage mode chakra into his targets by grasping them and focusing.

It is not as easy as a simple "touch". Which is not something an opponent above fodder would just let him do.

I think I've countered his hype pretty well. In no way am I trying to downplay his abilities, but he is not current top 10 now IMO. Saying he would win against characters like Pein, Sasuke, Naruto and Itachi is what forced me to make this thread.

Nah hes not really overated at all. Oro was actually suppose to be greater then both him and Tsunade. But then again whats the point of saying someoen is over rated or under rated.

in sage mode jiraiya can sense danger better and has nature on his side aswell as ma and pa. to counter genjutsu jiraiya would just look at itachis feet and not his eyes. amaterasu is countered by using needle jizo to wrap hair around himself. he would just shed the hair thats on fire. jiraiya can do this due to him sensing danger better in sage mode. susano is countered by the swamp of the underworld technique. this battle ends with ma and pas genjutsu.

Lol, some of the posts in here make me laugh. Jman and Minato were both incredible ninja. They've both been overrated and underrated, just like EVERY naruto character.

Imo a healthy Itachi would be top 10 seeing as most don't have a counter for his genjutsu and skills. Jirayas biggest downplay is that his opponents won't even give him to activate sagemode.
I would go far as to saying he couldn't beat an unhealthy Itachi, but that's just me.

First off, all characters have Fanboys, it's that simple. The only reason you see characters like j-man getting over hyped is because you either are blinded by your own fanboizm...... " if itachi was healthy" which unfortunately won't happen, and that some certain character have more fans then other certain characters.

Second, you talk about the fight with oro and j-man. Dude they where both at same level, with oro unable to use his hands and j-man drugged.

I agree blatant Fanboyism right here. Fanboys do threads such as "Nagato and Itachi are equals" and I have seen them say Itachi can beat Madara etc etc. Even when Izamani was introduced people were bleating "Itachi owns all versus threads."

Jirayai barely mentioned that much compared to other Characters and hasn't got enough Fanboys to be the most overrated Character and they haven't BE Statements
