Jiraiya's forehead protector has the kanji "Abura", which means oil; this is due to his affinity to the toads and related jutsu. He able to use the toad’s special oil for individual and combo jutsu’s i.e. he used toad oil against Konnan while he was at Amegakure, him and Gamabunta used a combo against Manda and Orochimaru when the san nin were fighting.
